Battery powered chainsaw

I have the EGO 18” saw. It does not replace a good gas saw ( I have an Echo 590), but for small jobs it is great. Just pull the trigger and it is going. It can handle some larger mid size jobs, but then the gas saw usually comes out.

(I'm 81 years old) and I have a hard time pulling the cord on the Husky, bad shoulder
You need to check out an Echo with the 'I30' starter mechanism or a Stihl with their 'Easy Start' system. Both are very easy to start.

I don't use a chainsaw that often so I don't have to worry about stale gas.
Neither do I use a chainsaw often or worry about phase separated corn squeezed gas. I only run either Echo Red Armor 50-1 canned gas or Tru-Fuel 50-1 canned gas and both have a multiple year shelf life in a gas tank on any saw and 3-5 years in an unopened can. Not cheap but then I don't use much to begin with.

Chickanic is no fan of the Stihl "Easy Start".

The sure way to store a 2-stroke is to drain the gas tank, put a few ounces of 2-stroke oil in the tank, pump the primer to fill the carburetor with oil.

When you need it again drain the oil from the tank, fill with premix, prime to get the oil out of the carburetor. Your first tank has a little more oil than normal but it will store this way for years without gumming the carburetor or the diaphragms getting stiff.

Too involved when all you have to do is use canned gas. I never drain the tanks, in fact I keep them full when not in use. Canned gas has none of the undesirable side effects that corn squeezed gas has.

In fact, I drain the e-gas out of my summer equipment and add a quart of canned gas to each one and they start right up the next spring. You can get it in pre mix or straight canned gas, no premix, your choice.

I'm no fan of Chickanic. I've seen a few too many of her videos claiming to prove something when in fact they were just poorly designed experiments which proved nothing (a real mechanic who was not just out for clicks would have known better).
