Should change the name of this thread to 'When will the UAW strikers return to work'?

I keep trying to get people to put their predictions up. Mine stays at November 21st.
I think GM and stellantis will fold around that time. Ford will hold out. To be honest, I expect it to go till mid Dec.

My brother is pissed about Fain. He said they never took a vote for him and powers that be (whoever that is) put him in place. He's already sick of this crap and he's not alone. Luckily he's smart with his money and lives somewhat in his means but he wants to retire.

I told him to suck it up. You may not like your wages so you can watch movies while getting paid. Welcome to the real world.

UAW has always been a part of my family...except for me. I'd rather be broke than be beholden to my master....govt is bad enough.

Oh and I'm not broke

The UAW membership did vote to put him in. His quote after being elected is why they are in the situation today. Elections have consequences.

Fain declares victory in UAW presidential election; Curry sets swearing-in for Sunday

"This election was not just a race between two candidates, it was a referendum on the direction of the UAW. For too long, the UAW has been controlled by leadership with a top-down, company union philosophy who have been unwilling to confront management, and as a result we’ve seen nothing but concessions, corruption and plant closures. While the election was close, it is clear that our membership has long wanted to see a more aggressive approach with our employers. We now have a historic opportunity to get back to setting the standard across all sectors, and to transform the UAW into a member-led, fighting union once again, and we are going to take it. The future of the working class is at stake.”

Don't know, and actually don't care. My bro may be covering his ass for a bad vote, or Fain was voted in by proxy by the stewards, reps or what ever the name is.

He is a Joe believer but secretly will tell you he voted for the Don.

That always opens up a can of worms around my house. Be a man and don't lie about who you voted for. Ask your wife for your balls back. Fake loyalty pisses me off. I may not agree with him but everyone has the right to their own beliefs.

His bed is made, along with the other UAW members. Sleep in it

I don't think it's hit you yet, but EV demand fell off a giant cliff. Even Tesla missed on both top and bottom line earnings, even with price cuts to increase volume.

The euphoria has left the market and reality is setting in about the true structural issues facings EV's. The Big three are all slashing EV budgets because the hype never materialized.

EV's are in dire straights right now, with the economy struggling amid high interest rates...circumstances and unintended consequences are one hell of a head wind. Self driving is great and all...but ambulance chaser attorneys are lining up for the class action lawsuits. It took individual liability from each driver and put it on Tesla.
I don't know where you are coming from but Tesla is selling all the EVs they can build and are extending their factory count currently.

It is true the Big 3 are not contenders in the EV market place yet. They are waiting to get their Tesla standard charging ports installed so they have access to Tesla Supercharger network. I just did a fast 1600 mile cross country EV road trip that would not have been possible without access to Tesla Superchargers.

On my 800 mile return trip from Austin Texas I got in my Model Y and pressed the mic button and said, "Navigate to Home and put it in Drive then engaged FSD. The Tesla found its way to I-35 and had me back to Murray KY in 15.5 hours. There no searching for EV chargers, route planning or routine driving tasks for me to do making the trip safer and less stressful for this old man. This was my first solo Cross country driving trip in 15 years.

It is true ICE vehicles sales has been declining for years as EVs are ramping faster and faster.

Who's gonna pay for that? I'm not ok with my tax dollars being used, you?
That may remain a mystery on this side of death. :)

I’m not sure but it seems like we have heard about said trip about as many times as there were miles in it……

Is the story line changing much.

No, but my sister who has old timers does much the same thing, repeating her stories over and over and over……

Good thing they have those dependable diesel engines powering those charging stations.
