Good morning!!!!

Good morning, low temp is 33 and the high to 61°F. Wind SE 5 mph. Sunny!

The ham was exceptionally moist and tender, it and a full can of whole berry cranberry sauce disappeared down my gullet, some with the ham and the rest for dessert.
Junior did the traditional apple sauce trip. I find that commercial apple sauce is way too smooth and way too sweet for my liking. I like my apple sauce lumpy and tart. 2/3 spies + 1/6 granny smiths + 1/6 crab apples makes a good apple sauce for me. And very little sugar.

Today will be a good day to put the wood inside. Sure hope the conveyor will start. If not then we will hand bomb it.
After the wood goes in, I need to diagnose why the genny wouldn't start the other day. Then give the lawn its' final haircut of the season.

Have a safe day all

Thanks Guys! I had a real nice day capped off by Homemade apple pie with dinner.

All the stuff waiting to be done yesterday is still waiting to be done today. Sometimes stuff scrolls off the to do list and disappears but not very often.

Enjoy your day.

Chris

Nice sunny day today. 37F this morning 66F now. I enjoyed the moon last night too.

Payed $111 for 4 cans of no ethanol gas for the mowers today. I add 4 oz. of seafoam to each can. Hope it isn't snake oil. It ain't that cheap.

I hit the big 70 today. I feel exactly the same as when I was 18 except for the aches and pains and medical concerns and don't forget grayer and tireder.

At the grocery store today I saw a black pickup. Riding shotgun was a skeleton in a santa hat. You don't see that every day.

My wife looked out the window yesterday and saw a deer inside the fence of the vegetable garden. Fence is only waist high but this if the first deer we have seen inside the fence in the 15 years we have had the garden. Darned deer.

Keep on trucking

Chris
Happy Birthday Chris! I'm only 62 and I feel "tireder" too. Arthritis in knees getting worse climbing stairs and going down them and work....Hope you got a big piece of cake!
Hey, MG, thanks for the compliment. It is indeed a very pretty time of the year up here.

Regarding the docks, we usually take them out around this time of the year, and float the docks far enough away from shore so that they don’t get crunched when the water levels change in the ice cracks at the shore level during the spring drawdown. It is quite an adventure here with the water levels. They slowly go down about 1 foot over the course of the summer, then after Thanksgiving they drop it down fast (maybe 3 feet or so), and then let it rise slowly until January, and then they let it drop again until the end of March, and then they let it shoot up to the summer level in early April.
Thank you for posting the most beautiful picture. Wonder why they change the water levels?

Good Morning.
It’s 40 and likely won’t quite make it to 70 today. Another day with clear skies.

Yesterday was entirely consumed by traveling, but beautiful weather for it. The airport in Charleston is on top of a hill, the drive to to town for brunch was quite scenic as the leaves are starting to turn.

After crossing the Kanawha river, we got a nice view of the capital dome.

IMG_9839.jpg

We waited in Charleston until 3, the headed off to Montgomery, AL, which was not scenic at all. The airport was undergoing construction.
IMG_9849.jpg

But the ride home to Philly was quite scenic with a stunning sunset over the eastern shore of the Chesapeake.

And the moon rising to the east

Had Mission BBQ meatloaf for dinner, and stopped at the Exmark dealer to pick up an idler pulley that they hid outside for me to pick up on my way home. The old one was getting ready to grenade.

You can see the the bolt is not centered in the bearing, not a good (or quiet) situation.

Today will be breakfast with the professor, a quick trip to Newburgh, NY to pick up a plane from the Citation service center, and then I get to install the idler pulley, and see what other mischief I can get into.

This video seems to indicate that E0 is a good idea, and that fuel stabilizer doesn't make much difference...

Morning all, 43 going up to 72 and sunny.
Wife's car dropped off for inspection.

Got 20 Cinder blocks to build up a firepit, Hope Depot $2.25 seems expensive.
Some of the blocks I did not take as they were falling apart with so much gravel.

Actually got someone to help me and he handed me down the blocks from up high.

Pennwalk - Happy birthday!

Firebush is doing it's thing. Have about a dozen of them in mostly random places around the property and drive.

Good Morning Everyone.

BEF - i'm sorry that things are so unsettled, delayed, frustrating. Great aerial view photos

Any of you folks use milk crates as foot stools to stand on? Lots of other things, too? I keep a few around, but most have broken spots, so I need replacements. My older ones are much more solid than newer ones, and I'm wondering where to find crates of better quality...
I use them all the time. The older ones from the milk companies are far more durable than anything that you can buy. The retail crates are probably mostly China made, lighter plastic, and crack easily.
I tossed out a good old solid one yesterday as all four handles were broken - it was a sad event.
I use them for getting into 4x4 vehicles, esp my buddies lifted jeep. I use them when I deliver eggs around town. I use them for storage, and often for power tools storage. They are easy to pack around.

check - beautiful area and photos2U

txdon - that is a lot of people, busy day, sounds like an interesting place

penwalk - HBD2U

Yikes - i thought i was 3 pages behind and that i could catch up with reasonable effort. Turns out that i'm 13 pages behind ... admitting defeat re catching up, so i'll catch up later, oh well - take care all. Prayers.

nap time, too early to call it morning

Good morning! 58˚F heading to the mid 80 with lots of sun. Our rain chances continue to diminish this week as our last rain was Labor Day. Wind will be 11mph from the South today. Strange, the more wind the less dusty at the farm. If there is no wind the road dust just hangs and floats in the same place, it is the wind that takes it away, I did not have to use my wolf snout over the weekend.

I Only had one crying child who absolutely did not want to get off the trailer when his parents got off. I also had two stow aways that snuck off from a Birthday party to ride the trailer and snuck on with some other adults. They were caught when their cover adults got off at the next stop and they needed to keep riding to get back to the birthday party. Their excuse story was that their parents always let them do it, but I had to tell them I did not care what their parents did, my trailer my rules - no parent no ride. They reminded me of something "Leave it to Beaver" would get into.

Drew our early shift begins at 8:30, which is doable but I prefer to get things done around here in the morning and have the afternoon/evening shift. Shifts are a easy 5.5 to 6 hours but up to 8 hours on Friday and Saturday. You can have the early shift.

This week hopefully will be the last week of negotiations with the pipeline easement people on Moms place. Kind of a one sided deal since they have eminent domaine in their back pocket, but I think she will be happy with the contract changes and compensation agreement.

58°F and light rain this morning, going up to 77° today. More rain expected through the morning. Not a lot, but any rain is good rain at this point.

Nice pics, Paul.

Good morning, gents.

Absolutely correct. I still have a few older ones that I've had since the early 80's that have been toting around (microphone, instrument, speaker, etc.) cables and such for 40 years. They were given to me by an older local musician who was in the process of retiring and getting rid of his equipment. Bought some mics and power amps from him, and he threw in a few milk crates. He was working at a store near my neighborhood, so they're the good ones. Nearly indestructible. One band I was in back then used a bunch of them stacked two high with two sheets of hinged plywood on top as a drum riser.

Does anyone even still make those?
