Good morning!!!!

Good early (Tuesday) arvo. A bit warmer overnight temp of 5C. The skies are semi-clouded with a predicted high of 18C.

Well, I believe that I've caught up and synchronised my sleep pattern. So today I decided that I'd fire-up the Z-turn and handle some bracken that's in my neighbour's front paddock (where the 'Mad Horse Woman' has her horse). The Z-turn has sat idle since mid-April and, so far, it's turning over but failing to 'catch'... I've come in for a wee bit of lunch to let it settle and avoid flooding it, then I'll try again.

Practically as soon as I arrived back home (Saturday) I was tagged to assist this Saturday in the annual Endurance Race out & around Pyengana. I'll go out there on Friday arvo to meet the radio check-point blokes and figure out where they want me. Saturday morning I'll need to be there at "a sparrow's fart" (0630) as the horse/riders start before dawn.

That's about it, take care all.

Update: The Z-turn did finally 'catch' and performed flawlessly after that... I need to make a mental note to fire-it-up a couple of times over Winter. ;)

Fedex did deliver my new Starlink, but late in afternoon, too late for me to get on the roof to swap out according to Sophie. Several friends got delivery also. According to one, he had a second driver helping out and they had over 200 starlinks to deliver just our side of the island.

200? Might not be any data left for you mate. LOL
Very very happy with Starlink here. No complaints whatsoever. I have a fairly low angle roof so I sat the dish on the roof in a big glob of roof and gutter sealant on each leg. Not a hope of it blowing away and no holes required.

Hey, MG, thanks for the compliment. It is indeed a very pretty time of the year up here.

Regarding the docks, we usually take them out around this time of the year, and float the docks far enough away from shore so that they don’t get crunched when the water levels change in the ice cracks at the shore level during the spring drawdown. It is quite an adventure here with the water levels. They slowly go down about 1 foot over the course of the summer, then after Thanksgiving they drop it down fast (maybe 3 feet or so), and then let it rise slowly until January, and then they let it drop again until the end of March, and then they let it shoot up to the summer level in early April.

good morning all
another nice Fall day, sunny up to 70 today

house cleaners coming so I have to pick up, then a quiet day and dinner at my first wife's home a mile away.
slow waking up this morning
Don, morning job good for me, I'm up at 5am or even 4am most mornings.

I just wonder if it is smart to have Federal Gov. involved in insurance.
Only time they have gotten involved is when no one else will do it, so clearly the whole process is a loser from a financial perspective.
Flood, wind, earthquake landslides, mold...lots of things homeowners sometimes doesn't cover. I had to pay a special wind premium on my policy living in coastal NC.
The States have had to get into auto insurance often, "State Plans" or "Assigned Risk". The market of last resort. I don't know how much insurance premiums are collected in Florida
but a 67 billion dollar hit is simply off the charts. Average homewner premium for most of us is a little over 1000 dollars. 5 counties in Florida average 4,300 annual premium and 6,000 for Florida Keys. And still it's not enough money to pay for a major hurricane.

More folks need to do what RNG has done, reduce your own risk and go on a good defense.

37 going to 73. Yummy.

Kyle, I looked for your missing post...couldn't find it either. I wouldn't expect anything you would write to need censorship. On the contrary.

BEF, your plans are looking good. Hope you get to settle soon.

Wag, glad you got your mower running...it took me a second to realize why you haven't used it since April, since I've put nearly 100 hours on since then. Race sounds like fun. Cool that you got to see homer 61 in person.

Sodamo, hoping the Starlink install goes well.

Had a final day visiting with our son and GF. Did a dump run, and hike over near the trash convenience center.
