You might want to attend An OGA meeting. I think they are held at TSC on Thursdays :D

I typically pump it in until I see new clean grease coming out one point or another. I like to wipe away excess blobs that seem to just collect dirt and grime also. It helps to keep the tractor neater looking and less likely to get greasy with everything you touch.

I have been using Lucas X-tra heavy duty grease for construction equipment, farm tractors, etc. It seems to work well in heat, cold, water etc. Green is good!!

Keep your loader pins greased. You don't want to know about replacing wallowed out bushings and new pins. Most all smaller loaders will have steel pins and bushings and lack of grease will quickly oval the bushings. Just did the loader on my second hand 2002 M9. If I didn't have the machine tools to line bore the old bushings and then weld in new ones, it would have been super expensive. As it was, I had to completely take the loader apart to do it.

One pin on the left lift cylinder was dry:eek: It would slide side to side but thankfully had no radial play.
Some how I had never greased that zerk because of its angle it was difficult to get the grease gun to stay attached[no locknlube].
I did manage to pump it full which tightened it right up.

You were lucky to catch it when you did.

Better an "overgreaser" than an "undergreaser" I say.

Okay Greasers... a couple questions.

1. Do you run the tractor and operate the moving parts during greasing to help it come out of both sides?

2. Do you pull the pins ever to see if you can... and check that they are in good shape?

I'm not ready to admit I have a greasing problem.

One quick note on lawnmower spindles. The bearings are sealed on both sides and do not get any grease when you grease the spindles. You are on;y filling the cavity with grease. If you want to grease the bearings, remove the inner plastic seal on both top and bottom bearing to allow grease to get in.

I just grease it till I see it coming out and leave the extra grease , Then it falls off in the driveway I step on it and track it everywhere.........

In my biased opinion (as usual), the Lock and Lube grease gun greaser is a total waste of money. Never had one, don't ever plan on getting one either. Quality grease gun ends all have a 2 piece barrel and the end is adjustable for jaw grab so if you put it on and it don't want to come off easily, you just rotate the end barrel a bit to the left and it will release.

Should be named 'Lock n boob' 'cause it's for ***** to use.

Yes, and along those lines, screw typing! I prefer to use a quill made from a goose feather, dipping it into a bottle of ink...gives me time to collect my thoughts. Actually, that's how I just posted this.

Biased opinion based on zero experience. 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Well, lets see now, never seen one, never used one, think they are a waste of money, and only "*****" use them.... That about covers all the bases. :) I wonder what would happen if he was given one to use, and what if he liked it? (gasp!) What then? Would he then be a "boob" like us?

I've been greasing equipment for 30 years, the Lock n Lube is by a long shot the most useful grease attachment I've ever used.

Don't want one, don't need one. Simple answer. Like the grease fitting rejuvenator. Don't need one of those either. My Alemite fittings don't clog up because I don't use cheap clay based grease that hardens in the fittings.

Maybe my choice of words was a bit harsh but then I realize that people today have extremely thin skins and get 'butt hurt' easily so I retract that comment.

Use whatever blows your dress up and I'll use what I deem necessary. Hows that?

Sounds good. Wish I had the money to send you one., You would continue using it, I bet you would. . :) Seeing is believing. At least in most cases.
