A good quality Log Splitter

I agree but modern two stage pump splitters are not what I would call slow anyway. That said, it would be cool to have a kinetic splitter for the straight grain wood that splits easy. Like many things in life there are advantages of each

No matter what brand just be sure that the pump is a 2 stage or you'll regret it.

Not necessarily if you had a big enough engine to turn the pump with proper flow and pressure there’s no downside besides fuel consumption.

You could achieve the same result with a 2 stage pump with the same low side pressure but either pump works just fine. Now if you wanted to put a single stage pump on a too small motor the results would be disappointing.

If that green thing to the right in the picture is a tractor,,
and the tractor is the PTO power source for the single stage pump,,

you might find that it is impossible to purchase a reasonably priced two stage pump,,

It has a single stage pump because it is mainly a hydraulic press,, that will double as a woodsplitter,,
ya gotta pick your poison when choosing what the machine is supposed to do,,

My splitter might hit the second stage for a couple seconds on 1-10 pieces. How much time do you stand to save on a single stage pump? No doubt it’s a nice splitter but it would work pretty much the same with a 2 stage pump.

That is a HUGE downside if you are going to get the speed of a 2 stage AND the high pressure

And what about pushing them through that 4-way, you don't really think it's easy to push crotches through a 4-way, do you??

It's a Timber Wolf 3HD,

I still see them at shows for around $3,500.00 and they are worth every single penny!!
