Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

I am not real picky about the lawn, as long as it is green and reasonably even after it is cut I am happy. I want to use the flail to cut the biggest part which is about 6 acres if I can just get it to stop leaving the uncut tire strip, not looking for a golf course cut.

Try mowing more often,,
if the grass is the correct height when you start,, it will look great after cutting,,

I mowed 4 acres yesterday,, not a tire track,,,

If you mow in a spiral pattern that will also let you overlap and eliminate any flattened grass and the grass will recover quickly.

Hard to believe you guys use your flails to do your yards, I've a little 48" JD rider for that. If I were to get out my flail, and my L3540 tractor that runs it, to do my yard, I'd have tire tracks and torn up spots all over the place!

My flail is almost always connected to the deutz. Open gate,start tractor, do some laps, done.

Depends on the yard Ours is about 6 acres. I don’t use the flail in the dogs yard, about 28x20.

The A/C cab is nice, but a 72" Hustler would likely get the job done quicker, and better.

1. I am not using tractor. Side by side.
2. I have **** for grading and 1.25 acre of wetland. I pulled mowers out of mud pits several times too many. And, had to wait till mid June to actually be able to mow where puddles were, while grass is waist high by then. With side by side and 59 inch tow behind, I am done twice as fast and finally mowed over puddles and mud pits.
Not every mower is a tractor tow behind Godzilla, tearing lawn apart. I have zero tracks after mow.

Ok ok, I guess that all makes sense.. my "yard" is maybe a little over an acre without a lot of real open space , lots of stuff to go around. I got a couple fields I do with the flail and I guess I don't really care if they get tore up a bit.
