Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 104F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Nice bike, Don. In my youth, 23 lbs. was just about as light as you could get on an expensive racing ten speed. Funny how people get into bicycling for the exercise, then spend a fortune trying to make it easier by getting the lightest bike they can find.
I used to buy a lot of clothing from Performance, a cycling chain store with a large web presence. They have frequent sales, and though the clothing isn稚 particularly stylish, it is made well and is fairly comfortable. I壇 stick with a name brand for a helmet, though, and read the reviews to make sure it ventilates well and offers the best in crash protection.
Sitting here in bed with the sliding door open, I can hear the hummingbirds at the feeder, and also a mountain lion out there somewhere looking for something to eat. They make a low moaning kind of sound, the sort you致e heard African lions make when theyæ±*e laying round. Have yet to see one, other than the tracks, and thatç—´ just fine with me.
Dug out the short block for the BMW I知 rebuilding yesterday, and wow is it filthy! Also pretty badly corroded, and even scrubbing with stainless steel wire brushes and mag wheel cleaner (contains several unhealthy acids) isn稚 cleaning it up. Any suggestions on how to get those little black flecks off would be appreciated. Also found the 1000cc barrels and heads I致e been saving for the project, in a box that hasn稚 been opened for several years. I should probably look in there today and make sure of what痴 in there.:confused2: I致e found that seeing the box and knowing what痴 inside are often two different things.
About 10PM last night the windows started rattling and I almost thought we were having another earthquake. But the floor wasn稚 moving, and the sound kept getting louder before it started fading away. Didn稚 sound like any airplane or helicopter I致e ever heard, and quite a few people in the area heard it as well judging from the Facebook posts this morning. I tried finding an app or web site with data on past flights but was unsuccessful. Anybody know of one?
Happy Hump Day, gang.
