Poured first cup of coffee. 67° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 87° with scattered thunderstorms. Still no rain. Not putting much faith in the 60% forecast for today. Delivered our sons dog to his place. Got 3PH painted. Stayed inside house out of the heat most of the day. Wife has a doctor appointment this morning. Then PT in afternoon.

Drew, hope you keeping a list of your garden failures. Plant the ones that worked next year. I do not think there is cool place this summer in Continental USA.

Good Morning All. Prayers sent for those in need.

72 going to 92 and humid, weekend went by in a hurry. Did a lot, just nothing particularly interesting.

I have a busy week looks like.
Hope you all have a good day and stay healthy, prayers for all.

76 outside this AM. Heading to low 90's with humidity set in upon us. Thunderstorms sort of died out a few miles from us last night so we got a really small amount of sprinkle.

Nothing planned for today or the week that is exciting.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Don, never cooked/cut an okra in my life. I'm going to trim the ends, spray with canola, bread and bake.
If I get slimed, that stuff is not coming back into my kitchen.
For me, slime is only good in tires....:D
Just not a slime person. Don't do eels either.

Drew, let me clarify. The finished product has NO slime. It is crunchy and flavorful and a healthy snack if you don't add a lot of salt. I usually add some catchup which is my downfall, but even with that it's a good way to get lots of delicious fiber in a crunchy vegetable. It does take about 45 minutes before it gets light brown and crunchy.

I hate slime also.

Good morning! high 70s to high 90s. Cloudless sky in Sun City so it will live up to it's name today. This week I should get the bike out of the RNG excuse shop, maybe. I'm still spinning but the real test is the actual hills in the heat. My helmet and shorts came in from Amazon.

Mostly, which GPS do you use and how long does the battery last?

Sodoma, good cleanup on the garage - maybe I can finish mine today also, if the heat holds off and I don't get distracted. During the lamp project I was using cardboard boxes as a workbench.

Bought a "city" electric pressure washer for my driveway and patio Yesterday at Home Depot. Always have to consider space now. My big Honda is up for sale cheap.

Still need to run by tractor supply, (you see I got a tractor mention in my post!) and get some dancing boots. All I have are well used work or snake boots. The wife is going to owe me on taking this class with her.

Can you see the turkeys on the golf course, Whipper is looking at them. IMG_2158.JPG
There were 7 but they were spread out so I could not zoom with the phone and get them all.

There was a rattle snake reported in a neighborhood garage last week, so I still have to watch where I step, but so far no sightings here. I have been seeing frogs so I can't let my guard down.

Good morning all, 69 now going to 88 with a 50% chance of T-storms. Got a shower yesterday, about 1/10" and it cooled down nicely. Neighbor and I were talking about my drill bit sharpener, and how it won't sharpen cobalt bits. He loaned me his Drill DR to try before I bought one and I love it. Works like a charm. Sharpened 6 or 7 in a few min.

Buckeye, Hey you said you were going to see Cooter, That wasn't Cooter. :)

Buppies, Prayers sent. Hope all is going well.

Eric, glad you got your cooler weather.

Prayers sent for all in need, have a great day. Ed
Got to hear Cooter sing as we waited in line to meet Daisy.
Cooter's garage moved from Sperryville to Luray a couple yrs ago. He was getting too much hassle from the county over there when he had big events.
We saw a lot of the Duke cast years ago in the original Sperryville location. (Cooter, Rosco, cletus, Coy, Vance, Sherrif Little)

We have also been to his Gatlinburg and Nashville locations.
I also met Sorrell Booke (boss hogg) in early 80s at a car show.0714181424b.jpeg

Good Morning!!!! 75F. @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Once I get the van back, Eric, I can empty all the interior parts I have stored in the back bedroom, but until then I suppose they are doing a good job of increasing the thermal mass of that room. With the shades on the other side of that wall, I’ll probably be back to even.:confused2:

Speaking of shades, they’ve stretched out considerably in the sun, so I’ll go out in a little bit and tighten them up again. All those years ago when they taught us to use taught line hitches to put up our awful canvas Boy Scout tents are finally paying off.

I hope you can find some very comfortable cowboy boots, Don, and have time to get them broken in before you go dancing. Even so, might be a good idea to take along some mole skin to put over hot spots that might show up during that first lesson...

Years ago I had a bicycle speedometer/computer that had an altimiter, and it would display not only the current elevation, but also the total amount of climbing since the last reset. I think it was an Avocet, but didn’t function too reliably. I replaced one under warranty, and I bet it’s still on the bike I haven’t been on in years. Perhaps by now, though, they’ve worked out the kinks and you wouldn’t need to go the full GPS route just to get altitude?

Managed to lap off 0.0012” of wedding band spacer yesterday, and have the bearing to the point where almost all of the shake is gone at the specified torque setting. But I’ve also learned that the shake comes and goes as the wheel rotates to different positions, so now I’m wondering if I haven’t somehow lapped it unevenly. The band measures within plus or minus 0.0002” around the circumference, but could it be that the band is no longer square, and how would I measure such small deviations in angle? Or maybe I’m just picking nits and just need to take off another few thousandths of an inch so there is preload all the way around the rotation.:confused3: It ain’t rocket science...

Hope everyone’s week gets off to a great start!

Got back from a few days camping in the wind and heat, got caught up at work, but could not put off any longer the pasture mowing as the thistle are blooming. I have spot sprayed for years along with the mowing, the mowing is delayed more in recent years due to how wet the draw is. I almost got stuck on Saturday, glad for 4WD.. I am going to change my spraying and start using the generic roundup rather than 2-4-D Amine. I plan on hitting it this week and again in the fall. Some of the problem comes from neighbor that does not take care of his weeds and the seeds blowing onto my property.

Tractor got a bit warmer than normal so made a trip back to house to blow out radiator, solved the problem. I (not the tractor) over heated later in the 94 degree blazing sun. Hot days continue this week, so I will only get a few hours each day mowing after work.
