My wife just got done squeezing the last of over 70+ lemons we got from my buddy down in Victoria Texas. His lemon tree has probably 20 times more fruit on it than we picked. We hardly put a dent in it. The tree was planted as a small tree 15 years ago and now is about 15 feet in diameter and about 12' tall. I would bet that all the fruit was loaded in a half ton truck, it would make it ride on the frame...

My buddy's aunt told her how to put the lemon juice in ice cube trays, freeze and add 1 cube to a tall glass with some water to make individual glasses of lemonade. I just opened up the American Cookbook and there are over 5 pages of lemon recipes. Yumm Yumm. We have so far, 2 large ziplocks full of lemon cubes and 3 quarts of lemon juice in mason jars. I guess we don't have to worry about scurvy this winter if properly planned for....

When life (or a buddy) gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or lemon tarts, or lemon meringue pie, or lemon ladyfingers....

All that squeezing pumped up my wifey's guns..I mean arms. I told her I'll be sayin' yes mam to her for another while.

David, if it's really really new, it's just the new chain stretching. I find I tighten it once a lot, then a little, then it stays there. And then
tighten the two cover bolts firmly.

It's gotta be something like that... I'm pretty frustrated though...

Company I worked for made levels for their balancing machines. The fluid we used was naphtha. Same as lighter fluid. Later we used Hexane. Both would have the same results that you need to measure volume.

MFW. I've got a cs-400 with 18" bar, I had trouble keeping the factory chain tight and sharp. Once I put a new Oregon chain on my chain troubles stopped. And the saw became a whole different saw. My saw likes a pretty tight chain. Has to be tight enough to pitch the front of the bar up. Or it won't cut.

Aren't the names supposed to be assigned alphabetically? That's a big jump from Abigail to Kate to be made in just a few days. What happened to all the storms in between?

Brits didn't get chance to sequentially name this one, it had already been christened Kate from your side of the Atlantic.

Eric personally I think naming storms is stupid

It does seem a little silly, I mean how can Kate be at all threatening ? Kate makes me think of a school friend of my daughter, a dead fictional agent from NCIS and the What Katy Did book that sat in the middle of the bookcase when I was a child. Don't think I ever did find out what exactly she did, I remember trying to read it a couple of times when I had run out of comics, never made it past the first chapter.

Just tried a search on What Katy Did - oh my, I expected to see a book cover of a little girl with a hocky stick. She must have grown up.

Not a good day to be wearing a hat here, Kate is still blowing hard.

When I walked into the first field this morning, I heard the honks of Canada geese, flying straight toward me and low to the ground, head on to the stiff westerly. A second later the leader saw me and rose up. The rest of them struggled to put the power down and keep formation as they caught the full force of the wind. As they climbed, off to the left at the back, several birds started to tumble from the sky, their wings flailing out, almost as if they had been shot. They recovered their composure a little as they came down and tacked sideways, then I could see these five not quite so strong fliers were gulls that must have been hitching a ride in the slipstream.

Years ago they only named hurricanes and they all were named for women. They reminded men of their wives on a tear. And of course it would be wrong to name a storm after a man as then it would have to be called a Himacane.
