Cold start issues, which fluid needs a heater?

You get a couple of guys to push it around, try to push it up the ramp, dive for cover as it comes back down, get the neighbor's tractor and push it up with the loader:D

Oh wait, that was a gear tractor with nothing on the 3PT and no loader and only weighed 3000#

I actually have no idea how one would go about getting a disabled loader tractor on a trailer, I suppose you have to drop the loader somehow.

I suppose you and folks in your area would not know what a winch was even if you tripped over it.

That's how people learn, through experience...You don't learn anything if you just throw up your hands and give up.

If you can afford the cost to repair wrecked equipment and the income lost due to equipment being disabled.

After reading all 9 pages of this tread I can say I have the same problem as OP. My tractor does not like to start this winter when its cold Say -15 C. As soon as the sun hits it it will start. So I figure its ice somewhere in the system.
I'm not aware if I can buy #1 ,2,or 3 Diesel . I get what comes out of the pump. same fuel in our VW and it runs all winter.
Whats the census..... can we add methyl hydrate to diesel?
should we add something?

We didn't have one on the truck or trailer, and didn't know anyone who did. It did occur to us, but as we didn't have one around, wasn't going to help. I have thought multiple times about getting one, and eventually probably will. In the meantime though....

Yeah but as helpful as a winch is, what would we do about the loader?

I would imagine that in a pinch you could use a come-along to slowly move a tractor onto a trailer.

I don't have either trailer nor truck big enough to tow the tractor so I'd be stuck hiring a flat bed tow truck to come to my rescue. That gives me plenty of motivation to take care of my equipment and learn to fix it myself.

Usually if the winch hook and cable is routed under the loader bucket to lift up while towing. The loader will raise high enough to clear the trailer.

Or maybe tow it onto the trailer backwards. Might cause a problem with tongue weight if the trailer is short.

In this case impossible, the tractor had been backed into the barn.
