BX25D backhoe ripper question

Has anyone looked at the DR ripper for their backhoe? I was looking on the web at DR stuff and noticed they have a ripper tooth. I started thinking I wonder if I could get that to fit the BX. When I looked that the reviews I noticed one person said they used it on their Kubota and it fit. Just wondering if anyone else looked at this or have tried one.

I too would like an idea of Richards cost of ripper. Have his thumb 2 skid plates forks good stuff. DR has a pack of 16" 8" and ripper for about $500 with ship. Wish the dr reviewer had listed his model Kub

I think I recall someone from here bolted a ripper from a boxblade to the side of his backhoe bucket, & it seemed to work out pretty good.

I want to say the Bro-Tek was around $300. For ½ the price I think this looks interesting. I need to take some measurements on the Kubota mount and see how it matches up with he DR.

Hi got a diagram from dr. Pin holes are 1.010 6.875 center to center 2.250 center pin to top part tooth. 3.812 inside tooth 5.812 outside. Now just waiting for kub to provide bucket info. Think they can provide better dim than I can measure but that is still option.

Here is what I received from DR.
Thank you for contacting us and your interest in the Ripper Tooth for our DR Towable Backhoe.

The dimensions of the Ripper Tooth are 18-1/5" x 6" x 17-1/5" and weighs 29 lbs. The length from the middle of one hole to the other hole is 6-3/4". Since we have not tested the Ripper Tooth on any other equipment, we cannot guarantee it will be compatible with your subcompact tractor.

I have the Brotech ripper, Richards looks a bit heftier than the DR, his also comes with a slip over the shank 6" trencher, that comes in handy if your laying small pipe or cable. I have used it on tree roots, works good and the welds are first rate and would pass a ASME Sec III visual inspection, no if ands or butts!

Thanks Tollster - I really have not seen many close up photos of it but in the ad it did seem pretty nice. The trencher also seems interesting - is that an add on? Is it cupped to remove soil?

Hi all: Got a phone call just now from Kub. Rep said they do not have attachment specs in house. Suggested I measure mine dah, will do over weekend. He also advised they have had reports of bending dipper using ripper. Still trying to get head around that. Ok to use bucket but not ripper to bust root whatever???? Maybe if rip was 3-4' long but looking at length from dr it looks about same length as bucket without getting tape out. Thoughts anyone? Will work on measuring this weekend if not blasting easter bunny for hosenfeffer (sp). Pat R

I want to say it may have been an add on, it's just like a plow blade that slips over the tooth. I have not used the trencher yet, but gave the tooth a work out last summer on roots, and rocks clearing some property. Naturally, on my BX, some roots required more effort, working my way around the primary stump, that is where the tooth came into play. The side has somewhat of an edge on it to assist in cutting through the roots.

The trench shoe is not cupped, its more of a plow blade, using the tooth as the spear point.
