Cool!

I found a 55" one locally for $250.. little beat up and rusty, and might be a little on the light side and I will need to beef it up some, but for only $250... well.... It does have a newer cylinder

Post what you do for the hydraulics.. I'm finding my controls really cramped with the power beyond blocked by bracing. The return is part of the loader frame as well meaning its not gonna be easy to move them or buy a generic 3 spool valve.

Sounds like you made a good find!:dance1: Having the ability and equipment to "beef up" equipment is a great asset.

I will post what I do to resolve the hydraulics upgrade. I am on the trail of a solution that is unfolding in this thread: "Has anyone used Unlimited Fabrications?"

HAHA.. dont know if either of those applies to me.. :) I dont even have a proper shop yet, just a sand driveway.

I'll look for a solution as well. Though I must admit you are my inspiration ATM ;)

Well . . . Sounds like we're both pretty determined and I'm sure a solution will develop!:)

At the risk of highjacking this thread any more.. Sorry Barry :D

Its old, light duty (more manure bucket than grapple), and has the 'old' bobcat style connects, but the price was right and I have a welder ;)

Not hijacking at all! I think it's great that we share our "finds." Especially those as good as yours!

A little welding, a little paint - good as new:cool:

It looks like a gooder-un! It will work just fine for brush. Should be easy to make it fit your loader.

Couple of brackets and it'll fit.. I was thinking of a reenforcing bar across the tine tips like the others I see, but then I am in sandy soil (all right, sand).. Whatcha think?

Don't think you need it. Try it first, you can always add it later if needed.

Here is the other one. 1/4 inch SSQA plate, 3/8 x 2 inch bar across the top. Was using it on the V417, trying to pop a dead tree out of the ground, when it broke.

I knew it needed bracing added, just never got a roundtuit, now I need a fixittuit!

I always wanted to be a procrastinator, I just never got a round to it.

Just an update, this is the way it should have been made to start with.

Removed the bent 3/8 x 2 inch bar across the top, replaced it with a 1/2 x 2 inch bar, and added 3/8 braces, to keep it from bending again.

Very nice work. Looks good.

Thanks, next time I overload the forks, I will find the next weak link. :( Just hope it isn't something on the V417!

Now I know why I wish I had paid more attention in shop class in high school . . . Nice work.

Thanks, I got to take shop all 4 years, Graduated in 1958.

Yep, was laying in the pickup, walked on it to hook up the chain. :D

Well, how can I say this? Simply put, I love my grapple!:D Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to TBN, but I finally completed installing my grapple and have been busy using it. Here are a few pics of the grapple in use:

I have moved limbs and logs much heavier than the brush, but failed to take any pictures. Also, I have not tried removing roots and stumps yet because I'm still waiting for additional weight on the rear. The grapple is very useful on a construction site, as in the picture of moving a steel beam.

Thanks to all of you for your help with this project!:drink:
