X300 power with 48" deck?

I'm searching for a new mower and am looking hard at the x300. Is the 18.5 kaw strong enough to handle the 48" deck? In a perfect world I would buy the x320 and be done with it but I can't spend the extra $$. Any input is welcome! Thanks!

The Kawasaki motor has plenty of power for the 48" deck. They are good motors. If there is a weak link on the tractor it is the K46 transaxle. If you are just mowing, not towing any implements, and your yard is fairly flat, it will do you well. If you plan on towing any ground engaging implements, or have fairly large hills, you may want to step up to a garden tractor.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I know about the concerns of the K46, but it's only going to be for mowing and maybe a small tow cart. My dads 12 year old LT150 has held up quite well with that same transaxle, so I feel pretty good about it. I can use my diesel tractor for big stuff. I just want to make sure the 18.5 kaw is enough for the 48" deck.

for years the GT235 was a huge seller, 48" mower garden tractor
with 18hp and nobody complained. Heck, the big 400's and 425' were
20 hp, and look at what they could run!
