I'm having a hard time keeping the bolts tight. Has anyone welded the braces on their BH? I can't think of a reason not to. I imagine they are bolted for easier shipping.

Why not use some locktite?

I have not welded them but I had the same problem. I even twisted bolts in half trying to tighten them up. I would up getting really heavy grade bolts and used a MAJOR johnson bar with a pipe on it and loc-tite. No problems since.

I welded mine several years ago.
No problems since.

I second the idea of locktite, the stuff has worked well for me on other applications.

I welded mine in about a month ago as I could not keep them tight and I even used Lock Tight Extra Strengh and I finally took the welder to them and now they don't move and snap around like they did., It is a lot smoother on the machine too... why they bolt them on I do not know.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll weld it mainly because I'm lazy and it's the easy thing to do.

I DRILLED 3/16 HOLES THROUGH THE NUTS AND BOLTS AND USED COTTER PINES. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THIS HAPPENED TO.

Would you need to cut the welds to remove the hoe? or is this a subframe that remains on the tractor and does not affect implement usage?

My hoe has frame that bolts to the tractor and then the hoe has a 4 point mount and comes off of the tractor with a lever, the frame that remains has no impact on implement usage.

I'm guessing they are bolted on because not every tractor comes with the sub-frame if you are not using a hoe?

The bolts attach the BH to the subframe. The subframe has no bolts attaching to the tractor.
