I planted a half acre food plot yesterday. I disked it then planted turnip greens, rape and kale. I add fertilizer while seeding the when it comes up walk through with a hand spreader.

I agree with a food plot section also. Most of my tractor time is preparing and planting food plots. This forum would be ideal to learn better methods to prepare food plots.

Food plots ect is kinda the reason behind CountryByNet Forums

It is the sister site to this. It is a little less traveled, but a nice site. I think part of the reason for the second site, was the issue of how many forums are reasonable for a single site.

If you want a forum though, PM the big guys, Hakim and Muhammad here.

Count me in also for the food plot forum. I mainly plant soybeans and corn. I planted about 3/4 acre of Groundhog radishes in July, just to try them out.

Planted some Daikon radishes myself, perhaps 1/2 acre, just to try. The rest of it is pretty standard - oats, ladino clover, chicory, PT turnips, ryegrass.

First year with a decent cultipacker also - that's got to help.

Now if SOMEONE would pass along the secret anti-morning glory spell I'd be all set.

I tried the groundhog (diakon) radishes last year. They acted they were brassicas or something!

Never touched them, they rotted. You dudes up north might have better luck. Even some people in the south have luck with brassicas, just not me.

This years hot new thing experiment for me is sucraseeds ryegrass. Doing two side by side plots with rye, oats, wheat, and the northern pasture sweetner. I have cages on all 8 test plots to monitor pressure. I'll post anything worth posting.

Got a little rain yesterday and a promising outlook for significant rain for the next few days. So today was the day to plant! Used another club members JD to spread seed and fertilizer and I dragged 10 plots. It took us from 7am to 2pm. I refueled and regrouped, then planted my three 'home' plots. I finally parked the tractor at 7:15pm.

Didn't get the last two of the home plots dragged, but will do that first thing tomorrow. If the prediction of rain comes true (it's rumbling outside now) we should be off to a good start. I'll try to remember to take pictures if/when we have germination.
