Thinking of errecting quantum style (Q) building. Have looked at Steelmaster and US Buildings. Anyone have one of these, know anything about them...quality, price, etc.?

Sorry Slip, just saw your post. I put up a 30x50 US Building last year. We live in one end of it & the rest is workshop. Had no problems. I recommend the industrial base plate over the trough method. It is an added expense, but much easier & quicker to construct. Look up my post, "The truth about arched steel buildings" here on TBN for pic's & info on the construction process. I don't know how to post a link to that post, maybe someone else can pop it on here for you.

Btw it is Quonset Hut......;)

I really like my US building. From a distance, they look fine. Close up, they look like a big accordion. Inside, they look like a cathedral, very tall and spacious. Mine went through 2 hurricanes with not a dent or wrinkle.

I prefer the "A" style. It seems more space efficient.

I did read your thread MotorSeven when I first searched for info on these buildings. I was impressed with SteelMaster and then talked to salesman at US Buildings. He claimed their buildings are better, tensile strength is higher, and they do not come with an oil like coating similar to SteelMaster. Do you know anything about these comments based upon the research you did?

Ha, they are all almost identical. The only dif is the price you can talk them down to selling. I think my salesman told me that there are only 2-3 actual makers of the steel & that there are a zillion "dealers" or middlemen. US Build is one that mfg's their own. The light oil coating protects the panels from corroding while they sit stacked together on pallets for , well sometimes years. It can be washed off & yes my building had it. Price them all, then pick the one you like & use the prices you got to get the best deal they will give you.
