Kubota mx5100
I'm slightly confused. The top link on my mx5100 has two different sized tie rod ends. The implement side is cat 2 and I'm guessing the smaller tie rod on the tractor side is cat 1?

Any insight?

When I bought a replacement top link the Kubota service rep said this is what you need., but obviously that isn't the case.

Very common for 50-75HP tractors to have a cat 1 end at the tractor and a cat 2 end for the implement. :confused2: Why, that I can't answer. :ashamed:

I hope that you didn't have to pay to much for that replacement top link.

The service rep probably doesn't know that they have different ends. :(

Basically, your tractor is cat 1 & 2 compatible.

Use the small end at the tractor side, large end at implement side for cat 2 implements.

Use the large end w/bushing at the tractor side, small end at implement side for cat 1 implements. Of course, you could leave the small end at the tractor side and use the bushing at implement side for cat 1 stuff, but it was easier for me to use the bushing at the tractor side rather than deal with it every time I hooked up an implement.

Edit: Your tractor should have come with bushings for the top link and arms... if not, they are readily available at your dealer or a farm supply store.
