I thought you worked PT for a Kubota dealer and even did deliveries for them. You would think you would be used to all of this....

I have zero complaints with my treadle pedal. I didn't like it when I first got it after being used to the JD's dual pedals, but now it's second nature...
I do but my use of it far as delivering units is extremely limited and I usually winch a unit up on the rollback anyway, very rarely do I drive them on under power. I have much better control using the winch and cable.

My comments about the Treadle Pedal is more about longer duration usage than delivering units for the dealer and I still don't like it, I find it to be cumbersome and ill fitting for my foot.

I have noticed that on new units with hydro's, the 'whine' is less that before. I wonder if Kubota changed something internally or added some kind of sound reducing baffles or something???

Candidly, I don't know but it seems to be less, least on new deliveries.

I’ve posted this before but the solution to long duration use at a constant speed is the cruise control kit.

The cruise control is seldom my choice. I prefer the option to instantly cut the forward movement vs reaching for a lever, which is why my foot is on the pedal when I mow.

My other issue with the F series mower I bought (used) is the previous owner went from a spring suspension seat (Kubota vinyl seat) to an air suspension base and when they retrofitted the air ride base, they limited the fore and aft travel of the seat itself so I'm going to have to remove the seat and base and modify it so I can slide it backwards for enough to actually have some leg room and that might alleviate the issue because as it is presently, I have very limited leg room when sitting in the seat. It's fixable and I'll address that this winter when I strip it down as it's gonna get gone through anyway.

Food for thought for sure. I wonder if someone makes a 'cruise' control kit for an F series mower??? I don't believe Kubota offers one but I'll have to check later on in the week as I have a few units to deliver later on this week.

I have 2 F2560’s. The older one has an issue with the treadle working harder. But it’s not the bushing under the treadle, it’s back inside the frame rail, behind the battery. The dealer told me to spray a light lube up into that linkage there. While there is a zerk on the older one in that area, it doesn’t help. Oddly on the newer one that zerk is no longer there.

By the way, I have size 14 shoes, so there is no comfortable style of foot pedal that I have ever found. I looked into a Ventrac last year. They have a hand control as standard, and a foot control option. But there literature claims that once you become acclimated to the hand control, few opt for the foot control revision.

I have the same issue, big guy with big feet, you'd think that some really smart person that owns a fab shop would create a kit to replace the treadle pedal, I'd stand in line for one.

I have big feet as well...lol Like my open station M9000, there is little room to mount and dismount the tractor, especially with the gear lever smack dab in the middle of the floor and even with the seat all the way back, it's a a chore getting on and off it. I believe the control layout was designed for smaller people actually. Certainly not for folks in the USA. On the open station, I canned the OEM vinyl sweat seat and replaced it with a Talon Cordura seat with an air ride base from Seats, Inc. Been my experience that Kubota wants an arm and a leg for their OEM seats and I don't like vinyl covered seats anyway, all they are is sweaty butt seats. My cab M9 has the Grammer seat (air ride base) as well and candidly, I'm not overly happy with it either. I'll probably retrofit it with a Talon as well.

I have found some interesting ways of using the treadle pedal aside from lifting the front to reverse. When engaging attachments in the MX opencab I find my sight is best if I position myself with a right knee in the center of the seat, right hand on the back of the seat or ROPs, left hand on the wheel and left foot on the back of the pedal ;)

I too raised the seat height 1" and added better suspension to the stock seat which hurts my ash after about 2 hrs. No problem horse ranch, hobby farm is what I do with a little local mowing mixed in for fuel money.
Another change that had to happen was the extension and proper stacking of the rear hydraulic controls. The OEM set of 3 levers where extremely short and nearly under the seat on the right side. I believe they were all the same size/height so you had to look or feel your way around to get the right one. That type of lever ID is not conducive to good operation.
