Texas Spring/Summer Thread

Finally got "almost" dry enough to mow. I got most of the yard done but I had to avoid some puddles still in some low spots and the middle of the culvert out by the road. It was really good to see the sunshine for a change.

Hope the garden is dry enough to get in today. Weed.....spray.....fertilize.......& mulch. I'm way behind. It's suppose to get to the low 80's today. Hope everyone get's to enjoy some good weather.

yep...wife & I were both mowing yesterday afternoon....guess who got stuck? said"self....you should prolly walk that before you head into it" ..... really need to learn to listen better to self....had to get the big tractor out to pull it out. Would REALLY like to mow pasture....but just too wet yet. I'd likely get it done -- but I'd leave ruts doin' it and that would P me off.

The grass in our yard is taller than I've EVER allowed grass to get in my life, but I'm still afraid I'd get stuck if I tried to mow. We have a heavy dew this morning and no breeze at all to help the sun dry the grass. So I'm going to give it another one to three days before I mow.

I took a chance and planted rye grass 4 weeks ago under my red swing in an area that used to be my sand pit. This evening I had to take a picture because it looked like carpet.

That sure is a purty red swing. I need one out on the dam of my island pond.

Anybody remember, or have, a glider? It was a couch on a curved rail that rolled back and forth. Mom and Dad had one out on our screened in back porch. My brother and I fought numerous times who would get to ride and who had to push it along with their feet.

txdon--Good job, it looks great. I'm going to seed some more Bermuda this month around the house and fertilize and and lime it all.

The guy that made my swing (20 years ago) also made the same swing as a glider. I gave my parents one for Christmas back then and they still have it. There was one always on my grandparents porch also.

Don, after all this rain, you might want to be careful the way that tree is leaning. This soggy ground doesn't anchor the roots like you might think.

Got call from school had to go pick up little man,he done fell off the monkey bars. Took him get X-rays,two slight fractures in his right arm. He is more bummed out of T-ball for the season,first game was Monday and he plays pitcher.
