We had quite a light show from the lightning last night, but only another .16" of rain, however that brought our monthly total to 8.31". I trimmed some shrubs, cleaned out one rain gutter downspout, and did some string trimming yesterday. I thought I might be able to mow a little bit, but my yard, as well as the ones on either side of us, are like a shallow swamp, and the ground is definitely too soft to mow.

Fortunately, the lakes and reservoirs around here are in better shape than they've been for a long time, and we didn't have the damaging winds they had a little south of Dallas.

We got 1/2 in. this morning. A lot of thunder and noise but no violent weather this time. Even with the small amount of rain there is puddles everywhere, and there may be another round tonight.

We had a little over 3000 power outages Sat night and Sun morning, with lots of damage down at Pine Mills & Hainesville.

53 degrees going for a high of 60 today with a 50% chance of more rain. And I just dumped about .3" of rain out of the gauge from yesterday evening.

Trying to enjoy the cool weather, had to get the sweatshirt out again. I know I'd give money for a day like today in August. HS

And I'm hoping the swamp I call a yard around my house dries out enough to mow in another day or two.

Its basically a way to pay to cut line for the thrill rides. So, if you're into coasters and don't like to wait....

I bet that gets the people waiting in line mad.
