Wednesday, 0605 and we are getting a rain shower here! Just a little pop up thing, but is running off of the roof, and adding some to the pastures, etc. Woohoo!!!! Maybe it will sit over me, until it rains that little cloud out.

I though I had heard some thunder, but had figured it was a horse or the bull, banging their bucket, wanting breakfast. Neat that I was wrong!

I got another .3" overnight here. I'm up to a total of 3.1" for this storm total since Sunday.

I had the honor of frying up our first batch of okra from the garden last night. My wife was funny. She thought there would not be enough for 3 of us, so she took some whole frozen okra and cut it up too. I still had some Drakes Batter that Ron & Betty Hall brought to me from MI. It's been in the freezer, waiting on the okra to grow.:D I dipped the okra in beer and then the batter in a Ziploc bag. We ended up with enough okra for 6 people. I used my non-contact IR thermometer to keep the grease at 350 F and the batter browned nicely while the okra did not absorb a lot of oil. Somehow, that okra enough for 6 people disappeared. We managed a few "Yums," and "Wow! This is goods," between filling our plates and mouths.:licking::laughing: Kathy and I agreed that we could not do that often or we'd end up as big as barrels.:ashamed:

It rained a lite rain all night at Hobby Airport. Nothing in the gage when I got home.
hugs, Brandi

Brandi looks like you may have some rain coming your way,, it's crossing Houston right and headed toward Willis,, I have been right in the middle of all the storms,, If I was baling hay I bet it would be raining it tail off.. But I don't have any hay to bale.. always something.. Lou

Jim, that Okra "meal" sounds good! I think you guys are entitled to a few "guilty" pleasures:laughing:

And whats this ?? you telling Lou to be "dependent" ? Texas needs one more "dependent" :D

BTW, it is amazing how the vegetation has responded to near 3" of rain! 3-4 days of rains and my grass has grown more than it has done in 3 weeks. At this rate it will be 2 weeks before Bird shows up to mow mine:laughing: He may even have to "mow" a trail all the way down here!
