I just put 2 gallons of picante sauce in the freezer. This time, I made it hotter by adding a couple tablespoons of seeds and not cleaning out all the seeds from each pepper. I tested it and it seems just right or will be when it ages out a little and gets even a bit hotter. I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one to eat this batch. In another week, I'm sure I'll need to do the same thing again. Tomorrow I'm gonna slice my monster tomato and make me a tomato, lettuce and mayo sandwich on toast. I'm gettin' hungry just thinking of it.:licking:

This morning my wife started laughing while picking squash and zucs. It seems we missed a zuc that was hiding down near the ground on the backside of the plant. The zuc weighed 4 lb 2.8 oz. My wife is looking up her zucchini bread recipe.:) I also weighed my 1st Israel melon that I posted a photo of earlier. It weighed 5 lb 11.4 oz. I'm letting it sweeten up and fully ripen for a couple of days and then I'll cut it and post photos.

Jim-
Been eating Tomato & Mayonaisse Sandwiches for several weeks, but my favorite is Grilled Cheese & Tomato Sandwich.......MMMMM Good.

I fed the livestock this morning in a light rain. Picked tomatoes and okra in a light mist, and now we have light rain again. Not enough to settle the dust yet, but maybe it will continue all day! I guess today is for cleaning and doing laundry, and making a batch of okra and tomatoes for today's meal! (I LOVE Okra and tomatoes!)

There were some strong winds, this morning! Luckily, now it's just a breeze and the house is open! Who'd have thought I'd be able to turn the A/C off and open the house on July 14?!?! :cool2:

Charlie, do you put the tomato on the sandwich while you grill the cheese?:confused3: I don't see how you get the cheese to melt properly.

I've got 0.6" in my "spider/dust catcher" so far and it looks like more is on the way. The radar shows heavier storms moving down across the Red River into Montague County. They'll be here soon.:dance1:

Ron Hall: When the truck air conditioner failed while you were here, it was April. Just think how bad it is during the middle of summer. It was fun running from parts store to parts store looking for that hydraulic fitting for the dump trailer while we had no air conditioning. At least I gave you a break when we stopped at Subway in Chico and got a sandwich. Now that I have a spare fitting from the place in Bridgeport, it has never failed again.:D

Edit: Just while I've been posting, the rain has picked up to a nice steady slow downpour. I'm lovin' this.:)

The temperature here has gone from 78 at 4 a.m. to 71 now, and when I went out to move the sprinklers a couple of times, I'm sure I felt a few drops of rain in the air, but not enough to be visible.

My wife likes to put a slice of cheese on a slice of bread, toast it until the cheese is pretty well melted, then adds a big slice of tomato; I guess you're call it an open faced grilled cheese sandwich.:)

And farmgirl, I like okra and I like tomatoes, but I don't want mine cooked together.

Forecast for here is for rain today, showers and storms tonight, and "some showers could produce heavy rain"! Not pouring here, but light rain still falling, and 0.4 in the gauge, so far!

You ought to put some goldfish in your trough. Helped quite a bit in our 100 gallon cattle water trough.

I can't keep them in there,, this is the only water spot with in a mile or so it is 8ft by 2 and half feet deep..about 1000 gal. tank.. I have a lot of things drinking there other than livestock.. Some of them are stealing my goldfish,:licking:, I have a small bayou that runs across my land and holds water year around but with no rain it has turned salty,, So I have to fill this every other day,, I don't have electrical power to this well so I take the welder/generator out,, crank it up and set and wait for about 20 minutes,,:) that well water is cold when it's 100 degrees outside,,:laughing: Lou
