I'm looking at getting a prebuilt 10X20 metal building to relocate my studio and giving Momma the 8X12 I currently use.

I'll insulate the walls and ceiling and need some type of cheap wallboard, etc to cover the insulation. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking signboard but haven't checked on the price yet but I'm guessing it's about $6 a sheet.

At $6 a sheet, your not saving much money over sheetrock.

What type of studio is it? If light is an issue, I'd want something that paints well. If other art forms, you might want something on the walls that cleans quickly and easily.

If wordworking, than I prefer OSB.

For a small area like yours, the cost difference isn't gonna be very significant, even if your paying twice as much.

With sheetrock you still have to finish it up and time is not something I have a lot of on this project. However, if it can save $200 I'll consider it, $400 I'll do it.

OSB, it's a little rougher than I'd want. I don't need finished walls, I just need flat and slinterless... I can see a spilter and get one in my finger.

We have a closeout place in town and I'm checking there for paneling etc they have on hand too.

Found what I was looking for, exactly! A surplus building products place has some whiteish panelling with some water damage, mostly stains or broke corner at $5 a sheet. They have enough to do what needs to be done.

Bo,
I was thinking a 10' x 20' is a pretty good trade for a 8' x 12'....regardless what you use for insulation and wallboard. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
