Hello,

I own a farm in Montana and recently purchased a steam pressure washer at daimer.com.

I wanted a powerful pressure washer to clean my farm equipment better than my cold pressure washers.

Has anyone else tried steam pressure washers instead of cold water equipment? If so, do you like the results too?

Thanks.

There is a difference between a "Steam" cleaner and a "Hot" water pressure cleaner . A steam cleaner , as it's name suggests uses steam more so than water to clean grease from machinery . They are loud , messy , and are prone to problems . A hot water pressure washer uses hot high pressure water to clean . They are quieter , not as messy as copious amounts of water flush the area clean and they are more reliable as they use a jet of Diesel or Kerosine and sometimes liquified gas to heat a coiled pipe with the help of a fan . Lower pressures ensure longevity and as there is little steam , visability is good around the area being cleaned . They really are the only way to clean a machine and are better for the enviroment as toxic degreasers are not allways needed .

Load that steamer up and head North to the Oil Fields and go put it to work. Best build a box around it first so you can keep the water warm!:D

Forget about washing farm machinery. Thats just wasting time!:D:D

I'll hijack the thread. I'm thinking of putting one of those instant hot water heater in the garage so when I use my pressure washer I cab wash with hot water. I know there is thermal shutoff on the pressure washer, but not sure how high it's set. Still it seems to me that 120 degree water has to work better than 60 degree water when washing things off.

I have a Steam Jenny, works good when all the valves and check valves work properly. Lots of minor maintenance to it, but when it works, it works good. Also works great for thawing septics and culverts. Makes for a nice income generator in the cold months.

You can't beat steam for cleaning off caked on grease.

I have an Amazing Machinery Hotwater washer I bought to wash the dozer and trucks at work. Its a pretty gfood machine i hadtrouble wit hthe thermo stat from the factory, My local servie man kinda knocked the brand but his top of the line thermostat conked out after a month to. It was just to adjust the temp from 50 degrees to 209 degrees. It runs constantly 209 to 210. The only thing that bothered me about the lower temps going out is I have a low pressure dise that I use on my soaping side. THe temp set at about 115 degrees was great in the fall and summer when you get covered in mud and grease. Just set it on the low pressure side with a fan tip and take a hot shower. I even have a special bracket on the truck to hold the wand. I still do the same thing I just step to the farthest reaches of the tip.
The hot water with the right soap is unbeatable especially on the scrapers goose neck where most of the greaseable steering joints are.
Wedge you may want to wait about putting a heater in the input of your pump I thin 80 to 95 degrees is the most the input pump water is supposed to be, I killed the seals in my standard pressure washer. On the hot washer the pump pressurizes the cold water then pushes it though the heating coils. You can also buy a seperate heating coil from alot of suppliers to go with the standard washers.
