A snow pusher does not need to be tight on the bucket. All the chains do is hold it against the bucket to keep it from falling off. the pusher needs to float on the ground, they are more of a squeegee than a plow, they just move a bulk of the snow off the area your plowing. the only way your going to make it tight is remove the bucket and directly attach the pusher to the loader arms..

Actually, by the time I made the fingers far enough apart to facilitate lining the bucket up on anything other than a concrete slab, along with making them short enough so that they weren't scuffing on the curved back of the bucket, you can pull the fingers beyond the cutting edge if it is loose. I also did not want to modify my bucket in any form, so I use the existing hook I had welded on the top rail, which exaggerates the issue even more.

I used ideas from a couple commercial units and they both were set up like mine, with a "wedge" between the fingers to help latch onto the cutting edge. No "squeegeeing" possible with this setup. With a mere 7' blade, it really isn't required for what I do anyway.

Anyway, eliminate the chain hassle. If you have QA, make use of it. When I built the unit, it seemed like a great idea to have it in the bucket. QA is just that, quicker.

Do you know the approx. angle the cutting edge is mounted at? Looking at the photos it appears to be about 35-45 degrees form vertical. Does that sound about right?

It's greater than 45. I'd go more alone the lines of 60 to 75. There was no "science". The guy who sheared my sheet offered to bend it. I let him go until it looked "right".
