This is my favorite idea

On their website they show using these tongs to pull leaners. I am thinking I never want my tractor that close to the butt of a tree that is leaning up against another. Once you break the tree loose there can be a lot of force for it to slide down right into the tractor and hence you. Thoughts?

I made one of those. Fun project and works pretty good.

I agree with Creamer - they're not for use pulling leaners. I have pulled to many leaners down with my winch and have seen the wild things that can happen. Including a rain shower of big branches from above flying many feet.

I agree with Gordon. If I'm pulling out a butt from under a leaner, My tractor and I are not going to be right at the stump. I use my logging winch. If I didn't have a winch, I'd use a long length of chain.
