RTV900 engine swap d950

I received a 2004 rtv900 that was city owned, needless to say they darn near destroyed it. I had it for a few weeks, knowing there was a knock and hoping it had a bit more life left in it, i used it lightly. well it died one day, it stalled with a black puff of smoke, then the Low Oil Pressure light came on. oil was full. I had the compression checked, one at 400 and the other two at 30ish. so im imagining a total rebuild is in order. now, ive came across a possible swap engine... a d950. would that even be possible, its the 21hp version. could it possibly just bolt in? maybe if so would there be a difference in rpm and would that difference harm the transmission? thanks for your help

Have you pulled the head, sounds like head gasket blown between two cylinders, might be relative cheap repair. I'm not certain, but I think all the 9 series have the same bolt pattern.
