my daughters got a small rock tumbling kit for christmas from
my brother. well now they want to expand up to a better setup. anyone on this board ever done rock tumbling as a hobby?
(and i don't mean pushing boulders around with their tractors/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif). i would like someone who has done it to recommend a book on the subject. thanks

hi thomas,
tumbling rocks is done inside a cylinder that turns round and round. the rocks are small with sharp edges to start with. by using progressively finer grit in the process, you end up with
highly polished stones that my girls make into jewelry for themselves.
