Remove gravel from yard.

We had a pool built a few weeks ago. The builder used 1/2” gravel to install the fiberglass shell. They then used 3/4” gravel for the concrete patio pour.

They dumped the piles of gravel in my yard. Now my back yard has gravel everywhere. A good bit of top soil was moved around. I’ve brought in some more dirt to get it looking good around the pool.

Having said that, I need to figure out how to get rid of the gravel so my mower doesn’t constantly sling it through windows. I used a 6’ landscape rake but that doesn’t help much for gravel this small.

Any advice on how to get rid of gravel?

Suck them up with a shop-vac. that has a 2.5" hose. I do it every spring after the snow melts.

A manure fork works, the tines are close together.

Regular hand rake, but get one that has relatively narrow spaces between the tines. Rake it into a flat bottom shovel, dump into a 5 gallon bucket and/or FEL to move it out of the yard.

Front brush on tractor. Like is used to clean asphalt prior to paving.

That looks like a lot of gravel. Just loader scoop it up and get it the F outta there. Replace with topsoil, re-seed. My 2c.

I ended up trying the power broom. It works but not the greatest.

I clean out the gravel but as soon as I use a landscape rake to loosen the dirt for planting grass more gravel comes to the surface. It’s a losing battle. It may be time to just order a couple pods of topsoil and spread a thin layer.

It's a pain. I remember picking up small rocks by hand and throwing them in a bucket when I built my house. Others....had to be moved with a backhoe.

Put some grass seed down on it and let it grow. Run a roller over it. My grass grows really good in the gravel I have and the mower rides over it nicely.

If you cover it up with top-soil it will work its way back to the top. It will take some time but eventually it will reappear, almost magical.
