Question about I-Mig design

I'm looking at Mig welders and have a question on Everlast's I-mig.

Why does the Mig power cable come through the faceplate to hook up on the outside? Why couldn't that be an internal connection?

I think I know what your talking about. Maybe for whatever reason to keep the wireing close to the switch.

Strange? Looks like a twist connect for transporting, but would still be attatched tho. Gotta be for a reason, weird?

That is, or rather should be the positive lead actually. Whoever took the picture put it in the negative hole, as if you were going to flux core with it. The Work clamp is hooked into the other DINSE connector.

This is actually, in my book preferred, because no tools needed to swap polarity, and it allows easy access to to be able to weld stick.

Ok, that makes sense.. easy to switch polarity on the fly.
