One last set of photos and it's time for bed. Got home a bit later than I thought.
I decided on a piece of granite for the sill or entrance into the oven. It had to be ordered and installed before the work on the chimney went any further. Here it is installed.

What a great job!!! This is inspiring. Did you say that you bought plans? If so, do you happen to have a link to their webpage?
I'm not that computer literate and have AOL as my internet provider, so it could be on my end...but the pictures are opening up very large. So much that I can only see 1/4 of the picture at any one time,which means I have to scroll side to side and up and down ,so its hard to get a good perspective on the overall picture. You said that it was taking you a long time to upload, so if you were to downsize the pics to maybe 1/2 or so,it might save you alot of time. But ,like I said, it may just be a problem on my end...

First of all here is the link to "Ovencrafters". This is where I got the plans for my oven. My oven size is the 32"X38".

To be honest though, if you have any masonry experience, or if money is tight (plans ran $125) you can build this oven without the plans. There are various websites around that have detailed photo logs of the building process, they would put mine to shame. Let me know if you are interested and I will post links to these sites.
Just to be clear, I fully endorse supporting "Ovencrafters" by purchasing the plans. If you do a little research about Alan Scott, you will see that he spent a good part of his years spreading the word about these ovens as well as building them.
Secondly, about the pictures. I have had that problem viewing pictures here before too. When I pull these particular pictures up they do not come up as large as you describe, they take up maybe 2/3 of the screen. Maybe I will inquire as to why this happens.

'Morning Mark,
They are pretty good size pix. My browser resizes them. Not sure if AOL has that capability or not. I think you could easily reduce them to 1/2 their current size and still have good detail. I'm going to check a couple things and then I post more info.

OK, here's the skinny. Your last pix were 3859x2894. That's pretty big considering that most people have the desktop set to 1024x756ish.

Try this. Go to "My Home" (your TBN home page), and on the left click on the "Edit Options" link.
Scrool down to the "Thread Display Options" section. Under "Image Resize" set it to "Default (Enlarge in same window)". Set "Image Width" to 1024, and "Image Height" to 768.
Scroll to the bottom and click "Save Changes".
Let me know if that makes a difference and we can dial it in further if needed.:thumbsup:

OK, looks like I'll reduce the size of the pics in the future and maybe try to make a few posts to recap the others with smaller photos. I guess I thought that TBN would not allow sizes that are too large, so I didn't even think twice.

Too large is relative. I love large pix, but I realize that it causes issues for some people. Mostly those with slow internet like dialup when the pic is put straight into the post rather than using a thumbnail.

Yeah, but if everyone's browser doesn't resize them it's a pain for them to see what's going on. I'm going to resize the pictures I can this evening when I get home and maybe I'll shoot Muhammad a PM and see if he can allow me to edit the rest of the posts as well.
