As I understand it, One leg of the 240 powers the 120v switch to throw the relay to provide 240 to compressor

Well, u know you are weird when your friend brings over a box of random hardware (because they are cleaning out) and you:

1) are excited to sort through this box
2) you can’t understand why anyone would throw stuff like this out
3) are hopeful that more boxes of random junk are headed your way

My Dad used to buy "junk boxes" at auctions. He sometimes got his money back and more immediately by sorting out the useless items and selling them to the antique hunters.

Garden hose washers? I think I’ve bought a 100 over the years and lost 99 of them.

I heard they have these YouTube channels where people open gifts and they film it so everyone can watch the unwrapping…

Maybe we need to do this for people like us and random hardware boxes

A local reuse store sells those boxes as “Old Man Collection”. I’ve got a bunch, even some from my folks.
