New House Build

The wife/maid stipulated no doors. :)

Little worried about our weather this weekend. Supposed to get 6" snow, teens for temps, and 30mph wind. Soffits aren't finished. May be scooping snow out of the house!! :)
Lol, i shoveled snow out of mine when building.

We had 2ft of snow in it before the trusses were set.

Takes so long to build a house that avoiding bad weather is almost impossible.

We were squeegeeing water off the floor of ours when we built. 1/2" holes drilled in the corners and still had water sitting on the floors. Contractor had to sand a few seems down in order to lay tile on the Advantech flooring. It was very disheartening at the time, but nearly 5 years later (wow how time flies), it's still standing! :)

Being on concrete we're not worried about damage. Just a real slow process carrying snow out one shovel at a time. :)

Looks like we got 4" or so. Wind is howling. Gonna be a long day and night in the grader. When I'm down by the build site I'll check it out. Pics of worthy. :)

Hope you didn't get much snow coming in through the soffits.

Are you going to put any ventilation measures into the gables/attic?

Checked on house. No snow.

If you look at the last drone pics you'll see 4 turbine vents in the roof. Soffits will be vented. 15" backer boards allow ventilation to flow thru soffits, over attic insulation, to turbine vents. I'll try to get better pics.

If someone else is considering doing this, here is a 64" x 70" walk in shower. I had a garden tub removed and put this in its place. No problems being messy with water, but this is a nice size. How else could 2 old folks in wheelchairs still shower together?

Very nice indeed!!! Thanks for the pics!!!

If chair bound ours will require backing skills to get out. Yours is wide enough to turn a chair around. Very nice Wakey!!
