Hello there,
I have a couple of old Kubotas and a 1985 JD-450C crawler loader that I love to build ponds with and push over the occasional tree when my wife isn't looking.
I keep getting stuck in the soft mud and need a winch so Leroy won't have to keep pulling me out. Don't know the minimum size electric winch I need, but seems like something less than 9 tons, since I really don't need to hang it up in a tree. What do you think? Is 5,000# enough?

Welcome to the forum from Canada. 5000# should be plenty.

For a crawler I would think you need more than a 5000# winch to be much help.
Most utility ATV's come with a 2500 or 3000# winch to get unstuck.
