New bridge 4 new tractor

Last springs heavy rains washed out my old bridge.
This run off is 4-5 feet deep and only 8 feet across. Dry except for rains , then it's a raging torrent.
Used beams made of 4 sandwiched 2×10.
They sit on top of 36 inch utility pole sections buried. Three beams total.
Rough cut hemlock deck
Field stone accent on earth ramps.

Very nice looking bridge. Did you cover the sides before the bridge to prevent washouts?

I have no idea what you take across your bridge,
when we put in culverts or bridges we also have a creek crossing that we use for heavy and or wide loads,
gentle slopes down in and out with large rock lining the bottom 8-12 inch rocks driven in smooth.

A rail? Are you kidding? Pedestrian walkways, bike lanes and load limit signs. And a Government TROLL to collect taxes. (Needs Air conditioned hut and lunch room). Don't forget cameras.

I got 10 foot pieces on new utility poles from a lineman buddy.
The pressure treated lumber and the hemlock came from a mill nearby. It and the hardware, bolts, screws etc was a bit under $300.
Not near as much as I had expected.
I need to seal the decking, when it ever dries out....

Can you describe a bit (or show more & bigger pics?) of how the utility poles are oriented? like driven in to the ground as posts?

Posts in the ground 3 feet. I used a post hole digger and ground bar, lots of cussing too. The beams rest on top of the utility poles. I cut them level once in with a chainsaw. 10 inch poles, it was like cutting iron!

Nice looking bridge. Did you treat the hemlock or is it rot resistant? Don't have hemlock around here.
