New B7800 on the way

Just bought my first tractor; A Kubota B7800HSD w/ LA402 loader. I also purchased a BL4690B backhoe, a rear blade, and a posthole digger. The tractor with the FEL cost $15,900. The whole package cost $23,500. I can hardly wait to take delivery and put that baby to work.

Mike, Congratulations on your new tractor. Remember Pictures when you get it. I also read your other post about how you came to decide on the B7800. I liked your reasoning, probably because it so closely parallels where I have been heading for the last couple of weeks.

I forgot to take a picture when I was in the dealership, which is Western Implement in Lubbock, TX. That is a 350 mile drive for me, so I will make sure to get a picture when I pick my tractor up...but that could be late next week. The dealer did not have the backhoe at the time, so I decided to wait until that arrived before taking delivery.

Sort of both. Closest dealer because I travel to Lubbock a few times a year and best price by far. There are closer dealers in New Mexico, but because Texas has tax exemption for farm or ranch equipment that is a built in 5% discount. Sort of funny how distance in the West is not as big a deal as it is in the East. I have to travel 25 miles from my land just to get to a food store. 60 miles for a Wal-Mart. Bottom line, the 350 miles is worth the $2000 in savings.

Congrats on your new tractor. I'll be real surprised if you're not a real happy KUBOTACAMPER. My B7800 was delivered about a month ago and has fully lived up to expectations. ....soon the ground dries out a bit, I'm gonna take it tilling with the CCM that was just delivered on Friday. That should give me a chance to try the 3ph. So far, the BH hasn't been off.

I purchase a new B7800 with a used 4672 BH. I noticed from your photo that you have space between the two seats. On mine, the seats touch each other which has always bothered me.

Now I'm thinking that the dealer may have installed it incorrectly although it has worked well for me, with 150 hours on the meter and a great deal of that sitting on the back seat.

On the bottom links, I have 3 attachment holes and mine is hooked up to the middle hole in the BH. I've never tried any of the others. Can you tell me which hole is used for your 4690 BH?

This may also explain why the BH is such a bear to install. I always thought that it was just my incompetence.

Mine is connected on the top hole or the hole closest to the tractor. I was wondering if that was wrong too because the dealer and the manual says to first remove the upper locking pin from the attaching link on the 3ph. I can't remove it because the upper lifting arm prevents removal. I have to remove the lower lifting arm pins first so that the lifting arms will fall, then I can remove the upper locking pin. I figured if I used the middle hole that it would lower the lifting arm just enough to allow the removal (or insertion) of the upper pin. I have attached a picture of the lower lifting arm pin position. I also have a picture of the upper locking pin. I was going to try to use the middle hole tomorrow and see what it did. Guess it moves the whole frame back a couple of inches. I will give it a try.

Yes, I can install the upper pin first, but it is tight with just enough clearance to wedge it in. I usually end up hooking up the bottom links first also because it just seems easier.

My BH was originally hooked onto a B2400 and dealer transferred it over to my B7800 as part of the deal. I have to have the seat all the way back to leave room for my legs, but the seats actually rub each other.

I remember when my machine was as clean as yours. Nice looking rig and beautiful landscape with lots of room to dig.
