Are you getting another box blade or are they going to beef this one up?

Travis talked to me about a credit, but I'm certainly willing to get the same blade back or an updated blade. What I can say is that Everything Attachments is being really good about it, and as I said earlier, and this entire thread testifies to, we're all learning.

What I can say is that after Thanksgiving, I'm shutting the lake home down, and with it land developing, because heating two homes in a Minnesota winter gets stupid expensive and can lead to unforeseen problems.

Which is to say that I will not need a box blade until spring.

Bends in metal are way stronger than a straight piece of steel. Deere has been known for years to use bent metal to make stuff stronger. Looks like EA should be able to fix this issue easy out of heavier material. They may also choose to harden the metal some as on construction equipment to make it stronger in high pressure areas.

You need to find an older gannon blade that has the teeth that fold up or down, can be hyd or manual. YOU WON"T BREAK IT

To me the break in the shank looked like a stress fracture rather than a shear or tension failure. Might try some 120,000 stainless rod and welded it up, I have used it to repair drawbars etc. and have had pretty good results(luck).

I'm sure they will revise the box blade and make it stronger at the rippers.

I agree there, what he was doing should have been well within the limits of the box blade. It may be as serious as a design flaw, in which case I would think that we would have heard more about it, or it just could be a imperfection in that particular ripper that happened in fabrication and is not highly repeatable.

Something to consider, my NX6010 is putting out 60 hp through a 4x4 chassis and ballasted to over 8,000 pounds with Rim Guard in all four tires, and everything is rigged for CAT2. As compact utility tractors go, I'm pretty heavy. Even so, I'm in the same class as Massey's MF1758, Kabuta's L6060, Deere's 4720 and 4066R, and slightly heavier than everybody except the Massey (Massey goes out of their way to be the heaviest in every class as a design rule).

In other news, I decided to put one of these signs up at about 20' off of the ground in big norway pine that I've noticed a black bear sits in often. It'll be about 50 feet off of a trail and hopefully will freak people entering my property from the north side through an ATV trail out. :laughing:

My other property abuts Paul Bunyan State Forest. My sister claims to have had two sightings, one of which was on her own property looking out her window. A friend and his father claim to have both witnessed one walking up a minimum maintenance road toward them until it saw them looking at it dumbfounded. Both said they first thought it was a tall, heavy man but as it got closer they realized that it was no man. My sister's first sighting was when one ran across County Road 23 during a drizzle and she was so close to it that she had to hit her brakes. She said it looked back at her with a look of surprise on its face and the face was like Harry and the Hendersons. 7.5 ft tall, reddish hair. Her second sighting was outside her window of a grey-black haired one running on all fours. She claims to hear wood knocking frequently and she may be near to a habitation site. After these sightings, my interest in the subject increased as I was forced to reconcile that either my friends cannot tell the different between a bear, they are liars, or suffering from hallucination. Given the evidences, believing them seemed to be the most reasonable course of action.

All to say that now whenever we cannot explain something, we blame bigfoot.

Meanwhile, back at the tinkerage it warmed up enough today for me to finally fix that damaged polyethylene diesel gas tank. Now I have a spare gas tank I'll likely never need since I made bash guards to protect the replacement fuel tank. Anyway, here is what I came up with.

I remember reading you mixed your fuel with number one, are you using a additive of any kind?
