A sapling cut off at 3' yanked the fuel line right off of the gas tank today. Thankfully the nipple didn't break off.

I've decided the factory should come up for a solution as the fuel line is just hanging out in the wind. The unguarded fuel line along with the low side AC connector on the right side that prevents removal of the clean-out screen are really dumb problems.

Anyway the tractor shut off due to a lack of fuel. While harboring fears from my dealer telling me that the tractor will not start after running out of fuel without an ECU reset, I quickly found the problem, pushed the fuel line back on by hand, primed the fuel system with the under hood hand pump, and fired up and drove out of the woods. It was too late for me to chase back to get tools to put the line back on properly.

This week I've bent both hairpins on my grapple.

I continue to be amazed by the things I find stuck in holes, like this 4" tree trunk. How'd that get in there?

I also tore off a snap ring that held on the quick release on a rear remote. How do you break an unused rear remote? I dunno.

No lost gas caps so far this week.

LOL! Been there, have the T-Shirt. I would have those mirrors ripped off in less than an hour. Very cool add-on's, great craftsmanship.

farm tractors are not really made to cut bush, drive through bush, or be anywhere near uncut bush. That work is for industrial equipment.

I just hope that little tractor holds together until your "rough work" is done so that you can enjoy your very nice tractor for many, many years. It does seem that you're pretty handy though, but take it easy on that little girl. I have cringed a couple of times reading this thread. I guess one good thing is that you are giving the Kioti a good test.

Tractor skid plates are not designed to be heavy duty protection, They are light duty protection to protect against an occasional little mistake...hopefully.

Some of you crazy buggers think you are running a dozer, LOL.

Anyway, carry on (and don't break any more stuff). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. How many hours on her now?

Wow, your first post deserves a reward. How on earth does this kind of thing keep happening so frequently? This time a small tree managed to skewer the driveshaft guard after being carefully sharpened by the rotary cutter.

With nearly 9,000 pounds of gear, my tractor thinks it is a dozer, a D-point-5. :thumbsup: Why just ten minutes before I shot this photo, this trail didn't exist!

Skid plate wise, I hear you: however, the pushback is that this fuel line is too exposed--that is unless being able to run forward through saplings with a brush-cutter is too great of a task to expect any tractor, let alone Kioti's NX series, to accomplish.

I'll take your crossed fingers and any random prayers anybody wants to offer up to ward off further battle damage!

Speaking of ripping stuff up, out on the point I connected my trail of troubles that took out my fuel tank and a deer trail that my sister, Ann, discovered last weekend and created a loop. Already I have neighbors taking nature hikes on it (the entire lake can hear weird noises and see lights poking out at night and has been getting super curious). I also discovered that the ground seems high and firm enough for building walkout basements further out on the point than I had expected.

Lighting update: the ferrites that I purchased do not allow a loop internal of the clamp and at 7.5mm they just fit the wire. Even without the ability to loop, the ferrites made a noticeable improvement in lowering the radio noise. As such, I'm going to try 9.1mm TDK clamp-on ferrites that do allow a loop inside the clamp. As the video below shows, the lights themselves work great.

The easy fix of the day was getting this pin aligned back up and popping in a new retainer.

And everything went fantastic all day until I bumped into a birch tree and realized that this problem wouldn't buff out.

All to say clearing operations have come to a dead-stop because I need to chase my tractor all the way back to the tinkerage since the entire HVAC system needs to come out in order to replace the damaged parts.

Outside of stressing me for time (other mechanical projects are already in the cue and the tractor was on my back burner until spring), the good news is that I'll be able to make guards for stuff and send the dxf files off to the northern tinker age for manufacturing.

Ouch. Sorry that happened to you, Eric. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with for guards! Maybe ground radar with sound alert is also in order.
