Merry Christmas to you and your family goats, dogs and the very best for your years on the farm - emojis excepted!

Neat. You gonna tile the inside or something?

Also, you REALLY should protect your finished floor a lot more than you do when working on projects like this. You miss a blob of adhesive and it is there forever. There is some heavy cardboard that you can get at any Home Depot or similar that is made for this. Easy to cut to fit with heavy shears and tape down with blue tape, then you can reuse it many times, usually.

I have a crack in my kioti Fuel tank. Was getting prepped for the storm last night and saw a trail of diesel after I filled up. It is on. the top and May have been there a while. I don’t always top off the tank.

Leaking Fuel Tank

Back in the 80's when I was in High School, I bought some sort of two part putty from the Auto Parts Store that seals cracks in gas tanks. In my case, it was rust on a 1973 CJ5. It worked great.

Wipe it dry if you can and use Flex Seal. Was given a 200 gallon tank that leaked and sprayed it with Flex Seal, hasn't leaked since.

I’m willing to give those a try. Even if they just buy me some time

I just saw your video on YouTube about your barn being destroyed. Now I'm thinking that you're dealing with the fuel tank because you need to drill some holes to build a new goat barn. Hopefully it's a quick fix and you're able to get to work on that barn!!!!

I got one of these plastic welders to repair the hoods and fairing on a 1864 cub cadet and have used it to do a bunch of other plastic welds. With the wire mesh and different welding rod materials it can patch up about anything. https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Weld...8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

Clean and sand the tank first. then melt the mesh into the tank, then melt more rod over the surface.

I used to use a soldering iron to do this but it doesn't do as nice a job.

Storm Destroys Barn

It rained a lot right after that wind storm so I was hesitant to move the excavator over there. Finally got it there this week but was so busy with other things this weekend that I didn’t even start on it. I did bring over the small A-frame that night and stuffed it with straw, so they bucks are fine. They didn’t want to come out this morning for breakfast.

The does and kids were much more adventurous

Why didn't you move that doghouse type shelter to the buck pen that the goat is standing on in your picture?

That is Ayi’s house. She has a thinner coat than Hopper. She was getting very ribsy so we got the doghouse to give her a break from the cold. The boys have epic fur coats.

Did the shed not have posts in the ground? Sorry you lost all that work.

Not sure about Kioti but Kubotas tank are HDPE and no epoxy is going to stick to that, especially in the presence of fuel. Sorry to hear about the barn:(

Over 20 years ago faced similar problem. New gas tank discontinued, aftermarket dried up. This is the crack:
GreenCrack.jpg

Tried to glue it with special "plastic" glue, this failed.

Then purchased an "ATV Fender Repair Welder", a modified soldering iron with formed tip to accept welding rods. Forgot if this was HDPE or PE, think it was PE plastic. Has held ever since.

I didn't use any mesh. Used the finest tip tool in my Dremel to open the crack and clean it out of glue and gasoline. Then I plunged the "welder" all the way through the tank wall and "puddled" plastic from one end of the crack to the other until finally using makeup plastic to fill the hole at the end. Is important for the weld to penetrate full depth, not just smear over the surface.

When we built the goat shack, we were being reactive. We didn’t know where we wanted to have the barn or what size we would need so I built it on six by six posts cut as skids… so we could pull it somewhere else if we wanted to. But wind is much more powerful than most people can imagine.
I’ve had a few weeks to think it over and I’m building another shack across the road. I wasn’t planning on it but change was forced upon us so we should make the best of it.

These plastic welders. How do you not blow uourself up, when welding a fuel tank?
