IS Ferris the only one offering this good suspension I'm reading about here? what about Imark, JD or others.
Ferris holds the patent.
They are excellent mowers if you have back issues.
A couple of days ago I paid attention to the speedometer on my L47 as I crossed my pasture/now lawn.
At six mph I was bouncing pretty bad. I mow that field at almost twice that speed on my Ferris.

I have a Simplicity Citation XT with the full suspension and that was the required purchase after my first ZTR was not and I was bouncing all over the place on it.

Confused. One person says ferris holds the patent, others say their brand has full suspension as well; so which is it?

Ferris held the patent.
Now (since 1999) Ferris is owned by Simplicity outdoors which is owned by Briggs and Stratton.

That's how Simplicity got the right to use the suspension.

Ok. Is simplicity equal to ferris in quality?

Simplicity has ceased to sell equipment. That leaves Ferris and a rebranded one as Stihl.

My two have been good. The cheaper one I bought originally was a homeowner branded version sold at the dealers. It did have a crossbar break at the mount. I had it repaired and it broke again. I took it to a welder and he fixed it up with reinforcing and hasn't broken since. Simplicity used very good drive motors in them that were higher quality. My two ZTR's have a ZT2800 trans in one and a ZT3400 in the other bigger one. Both use spin on filters and I change the oil in them regularly myself in December after the cutting seasons are over. Not a easy job as access to the vent hole is a PIA with linkage in the way. I do it anyway lol. Fresh oil in them is a good idea I've found as they are a lot smoother in operation when it's changed with fresh synthetic oil in there.

There are others of course and most like the one they have. Just stay clear of big box stores, buy commericial, and U should be good for a long time.

Sorta like saying, “I bought cow meat, it was tough.” Was it filet or chuck?

Which model? Husqvarna makes 3 grades, vastly different over the range.
