Using a rotary hammer drill, feathers and wedges you may be able to split the rocks into usable landscaping material.:D :D :D

Small rocks.

I agree with the other posters, the other option with a rotary hammer is to drill the rocks and epoxy a rebar loop into them as a grab handle. Works well too.

Joel... I don't envy you.... you have gone from having exhausted your options for dealing with that pesky rock to having so many it may take weeks to sort down to which one to try;) Gotta love TBN... lots of experience and ideas :D

Hey guys, thanks for all of the advice. Here are some pics, with luck there'll be some after photos. I put a coffee mug on the biggest rock to the left for some scale. That rock has two to the right of it that are also big, but I don't think as big as that one. I also included a picture of my driveway after dragging some other biggens out of there. Between the loader dragging and the dozer pushing to dislodge the three still there the driveway took a beating. But then if it was easy anyone could do it, right?? See next post for coffee mug picture.

I recently rented an electric jackhammer for about $25 at a local rental supply, worked great at busting up rocks that size into manageable pieces, was kinda fun but ,that thing did get heavy after awhile.

I really like what you did with your rock garden. Is this the first or second year harvest?

In the old old old days, they used water and wood to split them. Time and pressure is all it takes. I agree with all the other posters.
