I have a woods dual #195 loader that I want to install on a john Deere 2020. The FEL came off my case 585 which has "open center" hydraulics...my john Deere 2020 is "closed center" hydraulics. Will the that be a problem? The FEL has a joystick two spool valve.

Guess I am confused...(again). My woods loader came off an open center tractor (case 585)...so are you telling me that the joystick valve is matched to that open center hydraulic system and I will have to purchase a another joystick valve designed for a closed center (JD 2020) tractor

What I said was to check and see if your valve can be adapted to a closed center valve, and if yes, then all you need is a PB adapter and plug or a closed center plug.

If your valve is not convertible, then you will need a new valve.

Do you know the brand and model number of the valve?

I will not be able to check the valve till tomorrow, but; now I understand you although I don't think I will be able to tell wether the valve is convertable or not. Thank you...

If your open center valve has 7 hoses, it has a PB port, and there may be a closed center plug for it or just plug the PB adapter.

Six hoses ...looks like I'll be buying one of those valves you suggested JJ.

Look more closer and see if there is an unused port. Someone might not have known to use a PB port even if the valve had one. It is usually located through the center of the valve.

Can you show a picture of the side of the valve with the return port?

Yes you'll probably need to buy a closed center valve as some of the older open center valves only had 6 openings IE no opening for power beyond.

I looked yesterday JJ...no extra port. Now fellas, can I use the cheaper valve? My tractor is 10gpm which is top on that valve...is that ok...or do I need to upgrade to the 13gpm?
