My l3400 HST seems low on power, I guess I am looking for some reasurance. There are plenty of times when I could easily stall the engine in Low range at pto throttle doing loader work. I feel that with 34 HP I should be spinning the wheels. The terrain is usually a mud/clay with a fairly hard bottom. I am glad I didnt get a smaller unit.

Is mine underpowered? Seems like it has less power now then when I first got it. 33 hours on it now.

I have an L3400DT, so I can't compare it to the HST, but I don't have any power problems as you describe. I will lose traction before I would stall... I can push a lot of dirt at 2000rpm, and it still has plenty of power.

Sounds like you might be having a problem, especially since it seemed like you had more power when it was new...

Hello grizzjeeper,

This is typical of a hydro tranny. You may want to try a toothbar to help the loader work. MJK

If your trying to dig up unbroken ground then yes it will be easy to stall the motor.
