Kubota vs Massey advice

Kubota almost seems to have become the “default” tractor.
Seems like 90% of buyers automatically buy them without doing much comparison shopping.

Kubota are very popular with local govt shires here for light duty jobs such as mowing sporting ovals and road verges, maybe they get fleet discounts?

Most of the federal interstate mowers by large, are John Deere, next is a toss up between Kubota and Massey Ferguson, then a few sprinklings of New Holland ... I'm not positive, but it appears some are contactors, not state owned and operated ..

I'm a long distance truck driver and drive coast to coast, so I see a lot of them ... My local county road dept uses Massey Ferguson's with county employees, my Massey Ferguson dealer in in the center of the county seat ...

In MY area, New Hollands are the most popular for roadside mowing. It also seems like to me that NH is the lowest on many of the gubmit bids.

HJ75 you probably won't notice the difference with the soft ride/ loader suspension until you drive with and without back to back for an hour plus and you will notice the difference. Do a day on something like stacking big bales and it will be WOW, glad I got the soft ride.

So far the M4707 is a great machine. It’s easy to control and has a great loader. It’s easy enough to really scoot around our property and I really wish I had the soft ride, I can go a modest pace in 3rd gear without getting too much loader bounce when I hit one of our potholes or ditches, but no faster.

I dug out some sage brush and it was almost indistinguishable they the bucket was cutting ground. Superb traction & weight for its size.

It’s so much quieter than our neighbors little Kubota L2501. They were very kind to us, I’ve put around 25 hours on that little machine, and it’s loud enough I won’t run it without hearing protection. The Massey is just fine without ear pro.

Usually you can add soft ride to your loader.

All the US built Kubota loaders everywhere else in the world have Euro standard. Not sure why they kept the US market models with SS. My op manuals show both types, I have two US built L series loaders with Euro/Global.

Just to add to this, US model Kubota's only come with Kubota loaders. In Canada we have a choice of Kubota or ALO loaders from factory. (on the Utility models, M6 and up for sure)

I think this is more of a regional/dealer thing.
Up here in northern Ontario the roadside mowing is done with Kubota's and most of the snow contractors use Kubota's. And now I'm seeing a LOT more shiny new Kubota haying equipment in the fields.

Yep , my state highway department has a lot of New Holland tractors to mow highway right of ways.

I was surprised to see a buddy’s kubota the other day when compared to my Massey gc2410. The Kubota’s backhoe, on a tractor that was one size up from my gc, looked so flimsy. Mine looks much larger, with thicker steel everywhere but the bucket itself. My outriggers are way more substantial. His bucket was much heavier looking than mine, but that was it.
