Kioti Grapple Buyer beware!!!!

I've had to do a bit of grinding on a couple of my SSQA attachments where the locking pins latch in the bottom of the attachment. (pins where to tight to latch down without a bit of grinding on the QA plate)
That's interesting. I would never have anticipated that with the SSQA standard.

I still don't understand why the standard SSQA grapple didn't fit your Bobcat tractor though. Can you elaborate on what didn't line up?
The top plate by the Locking pins was to big and would not the the plate sit flush, So i had to grind about a 1/2" out to get it to lock.

As a note, A-36 mild steel (used by MTL Attachments) is 36KSI yield, AR400 is "Abrasion Resistant" material and 184KSI, so the resulting product is much stronger for less weight. Hardox 450 is even tougher. Be aware buying a grapple made with soft materials is likely fine for picking up brush, but will bend relatively easily under load.

FYI Kubota QA are 100% compatible with Bobcat SS so I'm able to buy either fitment and share attachments. That was one of the selling points for me on the Kubota.

I couldn't say what type of steel mine is made out of, but it must be enough as I have and use an MTL 72" XT Series root grapple on my skidsteer and I put some serious pressure on it and haven't bent it in over 2 years worth of use.

It wasnt always that way. Kubota got smart. No one wants a proprietary quick 'tach. John deere for instance.

And an adapter plate to go JD to SS is about twice the money as an adapter plate to go SS to JD.

Just a word of caution, this thread is 2 + years old.

A-36 is used for many grapples. It is also used on MTL lowest cost grapples i.e the ones that cost 1100-1200 dollars including shipping. They do use thicker material though hence the weight. Their next class up uses high tensile strength grade 50 steel.

Those 1100-1200 grapples are tougher than you think, and have lots of happy customers that didn’t break the bank on a grapple. Yes, they are a little heavier, but not that much, and they are priced right for many people.

That'd be me. My MTL grapple is one of the most used implements I have.

You should be reaching out to the Kioti dealer that you purchased it from and have them file the warranty for you. Kioti Customer Service is not who you should be talking to. All warranty is handled by the dealer.

If I was concerned about weight I would have bought the 48" rather than the 54. Those extra 3 inches on each end don't do squat.
