JD 5105 hydraulic problems

Newbie in the group,
I bought my 5105 in 2000 and only experienced hydraulic prblems all else is fine.
I have 380 hrs in the engine, yes I still want/need the tractor...
I have replaced 3 "rock shafts" under the seat to fix the 3-point from locking up.
Now the hydraulic system is getting slowly worse to the point yesterday that the bucket lifting was delayed a secound or two and the pwr steering was on and off. The 3-pt is very slow to move also.
I have changed the big spin on twice now and added fluid. The rear sight glasses have a small amount, 1/8", of gray in the bottom of the circles.
What do I have to look forward to ?

I would suggest, if you do not get an answer in a day or so. You might consider posting your question in the General Forum/Hydraulics or the John Deere/Owning/Operating.

Also if you have not purchase a tech. manual you might consider that. Included is a URL to get a manual from John Deere or get the manual number and look on e-bay.

Almost sounds like air entrained in the system.

Could have a suction leak.

What color is the fluid?

A pressure test and flow test would be a good idea. If you don't see the system pressure, look at the pump closely.

gray as in bubbles or water? drain the fluid out of it then take the screen out and clean it ,then change the filter. check the fluid for water. go to the jd place and buy the correct grade of fluid for your tractor.it does make a differance. the screen comes out the back just above the drawbar.
