Not sure that's true. The Deere is heavier, the specs are nearly the same. They are very comparable tractors. The HST+ on the Kubota is pretty neat feature. I've never gotten the chance to fully try it out, but it does seem useful, and wouldn't be afraid of it.

With opening up the brands, I would second Ken's opinion to look at all your options, but you aren't going to get 95% anywhere besides Deere.

Martian--the specs I've found show the Kubota 3240 weighing in at 3395 lbs while the JD 3320 tips the scales 2900, both without loaders. Either option would certainly be an improvement on the 2087 lbs of the 3032e. I'm sure I would be happy with either the 3240 or the 3320, so the issue comes down to out-the-door price and my comfort/satisfaction with the dealer.

As for looking at other makes, the only other options that are close by are Mahindra and LS. Both dealers have received mixed reviews from customers, so they are not on the radar screen.

Thanks for your response.

I stand corrected! Looks like the Kubota is heavier... Either way you look at it, they are pretty comparable, each has its own ups and downs. I would find out what kind of a trade you can get from the Kubota dealer and go from there. If it's what I'd assume, then the Deere will be a lot cheaper as I can't imagine them coming close to 95%. Go test drive them both first this time!!

Hear you on that channel, Martian. JD is bringing out the 3320 early next week for me to play with for a day. He's also offering to fill the tires on my 3032e with his dime to see if that will make it ride smoother. Nice gesture I thought. Won't get to play with the the L3240 until late next week.

Did you ever get to test driving?

Even as we speak, Martian. The 3320 demo is in my machine shed now, resting after 4 hours of brush hogging yesterday. Gotta say it's a sweet machine with lots of fun bells and whistles the 3032e lacks. I'm probably going to ink a deal, but have to work out a couple minor glitches with the dealer first.

Decided against the Kubota (very nice machine and maybe more tractor than the 3320), but I can't justify the price. Checked out New Holland and Yanmar, but neither "fit" my long frame. LS and Mahindra out of the question because of dealer reputation.

Thanks for asking.

Good to hear you've got some good time on it to make sure your getting what you want! Probably falls into the LS and Mahindra category without a local dealer, but have you checked out Kioti? They are worth a look in my opinion.

If you have a good enough dealer, he may have you sit in a cabbed 3320 before you sign the papers;)

Hmm. Found a Kioti dealer in Grants Pass, not too far up the road from here. Might drive up and have a look. Have sat in a couple cabbed tractors and my ol' heart goes thumpety-thump every time I do, so now I stay away from them. No question I'd hang one up on an monster oak limb within a week.

Couldn't tell you the model numbers, but Kioti makes some nice machines. I really like the DK40, but I think it's much larger than the 3320, price wise, they may be similar.

I'm with you on the cab, though. I keep saying my next tractor will have a cab, but I've said that more than once! It'll come eventually, just when I have a nice field that I'm working instead of in the woods where I'd be afraid to use it.
