JD 3032E Second Thoughts

OK, so your dealer is doing you right on a trade. This time get the cabbed model and don't look back. Ok..... since it's your money I'm spending, go up a notch in HP and get the 3520.

 I gave up my bh to get the factory cab when I upgraded. My reasoning was I could eventually get another backhoe if I decided I want one, but you can never add a factory cab. I've had 3 tractors in 2 1/2 years, I don't plan on getting another for a VERY long time. That's how many tries it took to figure out what I really wanted, and my current tractor is about 3 times the size of my original one!

If there's stuff you wish you could lift or do that you struggle with now, go for more hp in the bigger tractor. If you've ever considered adding a cab, go for the factory cab.

So are you still thinking about the new JD or?...

He's going to give you 95% on a 300 hour tractor? Go get that before his head gets better because that's an amazing deal!! I was going to suggest you make a couple upgrades to the 3032e to make it acceptable, but at that price, you are making out to get a new machine!

The saga continues, guys, and thanks for your continuing interest. In the interest of due diligence, I checked out the Kubota L3240 today. Or tried to. None on the lot, but came close enough on the models they did have to get a feeling for the 3240. Price new is roughly similar to the JD 3320, but it's more tractor--more weight, longer wheel base, better lifting capacity, a bit more horsepower, and very appealing amenities in the operator station that the JD doesn't have. I didn't expect it to appeal to me as much as it did. On the other hand, I didn't like the complex HST transmission system (more operating options than I need and more things to go wrong). Not sure what to make of Kutota's one year guarantee versus JD's two year.

Have decided to wait on a decision until a 3240 is available to test drive and whether Kubota can match JD's trade-in offer. Or not. I'm still partial to JD and loyal to my sales guy there. It's going to be a horse race.

Though I've come rather reluctantly to this process, it has proven useful by helping me gain some clarity about what I'm looking for, what my needs really are. My 3032e has done everything I've asked it to do, and then some. It's a sweet little machine. Problem is I'm a big guy and it's simply too small for me to fit into and operate comfortably for long periods of time. I'm no longer satisfied with squeezing into a tight space and contorting my 70 year-old body where it struggles to go.

Life's too short to drink day-old coffee I like to say. Same can be said for creature comforts. When I get up in the morning, I want to look forward to my seat time, not dread it.

My 'bota was a 2 year warranty.. you sure about the 1 year?.. don't be afraid of the HST+.. there have not been any reports of problems that I know of, and they are a technology leader with this system.. JD has some of these features, but not all, in this size class. and by all reports they are useful features..I am doubting that Kubota will give you the trade in that the JD guy is offerering, but you are in the drivers seat and can play one off of the other, to get your best deal. You already have one good deal, and it may be your best deal, but it does not hurt to look. Good hunting:thumbsup:

Folio - I'm on my second Kubota. First one was a gear drive. I did amazing things with that little 21 hp machine. My neighbor has a JD about the same size, but I found I could do more with my lesser hp Kubota than the JD.

Last December I moved up to a B3200. I'm loving that machine. Much more comfortable operator station, power and traction. Easy folding ROPS. Don't let the HST bother you. High is for transport. Medium is where you will do most of your front loader work, mowing, etc. Low I use for close work or loading onto the trailer.

You will love a FEL that you can dismount from the tractor! I can remove mine in 5 minutes and I'm down to just a tractor I can get into tight spaces - like when I'm mowing.

Test drive any unit you are thinking of purchasing. On my signature the dealer allowed me to load up the new B3200, haul it 80 miles for a test run of a tractor/mower combination. I returned it the next day and purchased a week later. A dealership's attitude and service count for a lot.

Well, if you're opening the field up, there are a few tractors that will give you plenty more weight, wheel base lift capacity and luxury than either the JD or Kubota well within your price range.

I agree with James, I doubt Kubota or anybody else is going to match the 95% offer. I don't know about the reliability etc of HST+, but I would have loved to have it as an option, it takes care of the two things I hate most about hst transmissions.

I traded my perfectly fine CK30 for a DK45 when my dealer offered 94%. I haven't had much time to play on it yet, but my initial impression of it is it's WAY bigger than what I need, man it's a nice tractor, it's 10X more comfortable to drive, Kioti put a lot more effort into designing this line of tractors and I can't believe how strong it is. I wouldn't go into debt to do it if I were you, but if you can swing an upgrade, it can make something you already enjoy even nicer.

Not sure that's true. The Deere is heavier, the specs are nearly the same. They are very comparable tractors. The HST+ on the Kubota is pretty neat feature. I've never gotten the chance to fully try it out, but it does seem useful, and wouldn't be afraid of it.

With opening up the brands, I would second Ken's opinion to look at all your options, but you aren't going to get 95% anywhere besides Deere.
