JD 3020 checking hyd level?

I blew a hydraulic line. When I replaced the line I drained all of the hyd fluid and replaced it along with a new filter. Now I have a stumble in the FEL. If I run it to full extension a few times the stumble goes away until first start on the next day.

When I check the hyd level via the dipstick, should the stick be sitting on top or screwed all the way down and then removed when you check the level?

From the manual, "With the tractor on level ground, remove the dipstick. Obtain the oil level on the dipstick with the cap resting on the threads."

You do have a manual right?

Thanks. Nope, just got the tractor within the last 2 months and haven't picked up a manual for it yet.
